Crowton is not a QB coach...

This link is telling.

Is it just me or this odd coming from the OC/QB coach of a Top Ten College Football Program?
Sounds like the private "academy" knows more than our OC.

Your program is fantastic, the best I have ever seen on throwing mechanics. We are now using your material with our QBs at LSU. I am totally sold on what you are trying to do, and I want you to work with my son next off season.

Doing a search for QB training for my son.
My jaw dropped when I read that qoute.

LMFAO. Did you look at the website? This is like some infomercial you see on the Golf Channel from that swing guy!!
Jesus, I'd be impressed that some podunk AR-kansas high school coach and the coordinator for the 107th ranked FBS offense thinks this guys system is the shisnit.
THIS IS PROBABLY WHY OR QB'S SUCK SO MUCH!!!!!

I would think they would want to remove that testimonial. Not sure it actually helps business.

No, but our chiropractor is....
quote:
Tom Rathman played QB for LSU from 1994-1997, and is currently the team’s chiropractor. Tom coached the 2007 Nike Elite 11.
Tom says, “I was a former student of Darin’s 15 years ago and I based all my success on Darin’s teaching for getting me to the next level.”
Tom serves on QBA’s certified staff coaching top athletes in the Louisiana area, as well as QBA principles with LSU’s quarterbacks.
Ha.. nothing more than Crowton doing a favor for someone on the staff ... although, our kicking coaching is basically outsourced .... hmmmm

Maybe he just found this after the Arkansas game.

Wow, This is ridiculous. No wonder JJ is unable to react to the speed of SEC defenses. Crowton is preparing our QB's with a program intended to develop middle school, and at best high school, kids to play at the next level. I do not think for a minute that this was just some lame arse endorsement for a friend, I really believe what he said, "We are now using your material with our QBs at LSU." At least by using this program, our QB's families can learn how to market their kids to the NFL scouts. Crowton is incompetent for more reasons that I can put into a paragraph rant!

What's the big deal? Not every expert has Pete Newell or Ray Guy's championship titles, collegiate marks, and/or pro pedigrees?
That doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing. Tom Martinez, Tom Emanski, Chris Sailer, etc..are renowned at their crafts.

These programs, as effective as they may be for their target audience, are not designed for SEC quarterbacks! That is a major problem. Can you imagine the Yankee's using the Tom Eunanski instructional video's to train their championship teams. No! These types of programs are designed to build fundamentals.

You guys know nothing at all. Darin Slack is indeed one of the best all around qb coaches in the country. Crowton is a better coach than you think by using someone elses methods. He is trying to learn to get better. Many of the Darin Slack techniques are used by the best qbs around. He is VERY good

Your point is valid. And I have heard nothing but positives about the academy.
But you must admit, the lack of development at the QB position was a major issue for the Tigers this season. Whose responsibility is that?

Dude, you are so missing the point here. You don't use a preformed program targeted toward developing qb's as a major training tool for SEC quarterbacks. What you do need to do is bring in qualified coaches who can evaluate each player on an individual basis and then develop a program around their needs. This type of specialized program is not possible for kids in high school, its to expensive. For a national championship team, it is not only feasible, but necessary. I am not naive enough to believe that Crowton uses this program alone, but it does make me beleive that he is not capable of a dynamic evaluation of our qb's.

I have no issue with Darin Slack. Again, as above I have heard nothing but positive remarks about him and his coaching.
Is Crowton using his methods? Would Coach Slack say that the QB's are using his style of mechanics?
Posted on 1/11/11 at 8:31 pm to mwm019
Darin Slack is not telling Crowton how to run an offense he is just showing tools and methods of teaching footwork and mechanical things that are so far over your head you will never understand. MOST high school qbs do not get this training and need it at an early level in high school. More high school coaches (what i do) are starting to use Slack's methods (we do) and it pays off. Coaches steal from one another, especially successful ones. Don't bash something you do not understand

Oh, I wholeheartedly have taken issue with Crowton's lack of QB development since 2008-2010. And highly suspect that Matt Flynn's 2007 was of his own maturation to large degree.
A few weeks of farming your guys out to Manning Camp isn't enough.
