I understand it f-ing money but I mean, seriously...you're Miles' age and you've been pulling bank for 15 years. You already make $3.75MM. I mean seriously, I think there's a point where another $750,000 doesn't really matter.

To me, as a broke arse Cajun, it would mean the world. I'm scrapping for nuts as is but lets be honest, Miles doesn't exactly look at the menu prices. He also doesnt strike me as greedy.

No matter what they throw at him, anything less than 5-6, if he leaves it wasn't anything to do with money.

He tells his agent what to do. If he goes to Michigan, it will be because of an intangible (i.e., he's a Michigan man). You can't really put a price on it. His agent's job will then be to get the most that he can out of Michigan.

Probably but it's just astounding to think about how much money is paid to coach a football team.

sure. but if he has a chance to get more money out of LSU, you don't think his agent is going to advise Miles to do so?

This.

As I said in another thread, when you're talking about those kind of figures, there isn't a whole lot that $5 million will buy that $3.8 million won't. It's about more than just money.

I posted this in the BelowPar Speaks thread:

The money matters and an extra million is nice, but the Michigan job would satisfy his competitiveness and get him out from underneath a perceived shadow in Baton Rouge. If he goes to Michigan and turns the program around, he will be the guy who resurrected the program...not just the guy who took over a program where the cupboard was stocked and maintained the success. And what better place to do that than his alma mater. It's a last stop gig for him. If he goes to UM and fails (and I don't believe he will fail)...he can always say he tried, and can move on to coach at another D-I school later...or just retire a wealthy man. If he doens't go, he'll always have the "what if" factor of his career's reflection...always have naysayers who attribute his significant success at LSU to the LSU that Nick Saban built. If he bolts for Big Blue and turns the program around, beats Ohio State more than he loses, and wins a couple of Big Ten Championships (or maybe more), he'll be the savior of his alma mater, cast forever as Bo's boy who made Michigan powerful again.

I just find it hilarious that a coach is paid millions of dollars to coach players that aren't paid anything.

For Michigan money doesn't matter right now and it shouldn't if they feel Les is the right guy for the job. Also Big Blue is Kentucky or the New York Giants. Michigan doesn't use Big Blue. Its Maize and Blue. Go Blue etc.

bottom line.....the extra $$ just affects how much extra taxes you want to pay. Won't change his lifestyle one bit!
