Staying at LSU, most of his supporters are against giving an extension or raise.

Why is this?

he has a lucrative contract. you get a raise and extension when you bring home hardware, not when you keep leveraging the same job for more money

Because he hasn't done anything to earn a raise.

He's paid the money he makes to win most of your games, win bowls, and compete for championships, which is what he did this year.

Are you kidding me? We are poised to be in the middle of the hunt for the BCSNC next year and you would not do everything in your power to keep Miles?

Tard!!!

Apply that logic to your own job (assuming that you have one).

Because they are smart. We won the Cotton Bowl; not a BCS game.

It's simple in my mind. Les has to decide first if he wants to be at LSU. If he does not wanna be here then money is not the issue. We owe Les 18 million regardless of what he does as far as Championships. He already has a long term deal. Les has won alot of games here, but has been shut out of championships (even West Titles) for 3 years. He is 14-10 in SEC play in 3 years. I don't understand some fans impatience about paying him more or giving him another year? Just let next season play out. 3.7 million is more than fair to Les.

He brings home the hardware next year.......then by all means we need to bump him up......not before. Maybe we could put a clause in his contract that he would be the highest paid coach following the next BCS championship win.

I can understand that, in most cases, you give the coach a raise when he brings home a championship. However, in Lsu's case: giving Miles a raise this year is an investment towards a title(s) next season. At this point, just pay the man so we can make a run in 2011.

I'm ok with making the incentives juicier if he wins the SEC and of course the BCS Championship again.

If Michigan offers, LSU will do something to sweeten Miles current deal.

To think otherwise, would be to be blind to the current college coaching landscape. imo

Applying logic to my own job, I would have been fired after the UT game for such piss poor management skills.

The point of the thread is, to me it seems that most support miles yet don't want to give an extension or raise.

I feel if you support him and want him to "the" guy, you have to go all the way.

That's just my opinion though.
