Is Shep a non-factor in the future of LSU football?

he only had 1 touch - a 4 yard run - against aTm. What's his future with the team? Can he become a return specialist, maybe?

Dude need to step up. He needs to work very hard this off season.

Depends on who the coach is. If LSU gets a spread guy, he'll be used. If it's a pro style, not so much.

I am wondering the same thing
I just don't get it...
He look a little undersized out there last night.
Watching Landry in the AA game, I can see him taking Shep's spot at slot..
He is very talented, hate to see it wasted, but he seems to be in no man's land right now

what offseason programs help you learn to catch balls thrown at your feet?

i don't think landry is a slot guy

Y'all need to relax with him. He played QB in high school. 3 positions last year, and is still learning. I,ve heard he works his arse off, but it takes time to learn a position like wr.

we have 3 or 4 better backs than him we have 3 or 4 better wr than him

He's got to become a much better receiver. If we can count on him to catch the middle screen and get him in space out of the slot he could be deadly.
I think he still has a great attitude and I have no doubt that he will work hard to get better.

How can a guy unstoppable in HS, that broke Vince Young records be 3rd or 4th best on LSU's roster?
And the pass down the slot was at his feet as has been the case all year...that was ugly...I wonder if Shep is suppose to pull up?

bad hands right now cause him problems... has to work hard on this during offseason

I agree that having a better passing QB could be the spark that Shep needs to get it going.

i think he has gotten some bad passes, etc... i will say this though. everytime the dude touches the ball it seams like he gets suplexed by whoever tackles him. he needs to get a little meaner..

Mett will cure everyones worries about Shep
I agree with this as well. The short throws are actually among JJs worst. Mett will make Shep a lot more valuable.
But he still has a long way to go as a route runner and pass catcher.

slot receivers have got to be tuff and he is not very tuff

Unfortunately, he may just be not as good as people had thought.

He should have red shirted.

wes welker comes to mind when thinking of a slot receiver - and he's tough. also, is lance moore with the Saints considered a slot receiver? if so, he is tough, too. and makes money catches all the time.

if we get better passing, I think he'll be pretty productive.
like McCluster said last yr, it took him a few yrs to really hit his stride and become the player he was.
