Just got back from the midnight showing. It was good, not great. I thought it could have used more action. Bridges was excellent, as expected.

Going to midnight showing with my brothers Christmas night. Even though you said it was not great, I'm still pumped.

Think bong rips before going would make it better?

I guess I'm the only one who thought the girl was annoying as hell and didn't think her performance was that great. I know her role is supposed to be like that, but I just wasn't as impressed as everyone else in this thread seems to be.

The climax scene was really underwhelming compared to the John Wayne version.

Just got in from seeing it. There were only a few differences from the original. I personally thought the original was funnier, however the scene with him kicking the Indian kids was money. I liked the ending to the original best because it summed up their relationship better, I think. Bummed that the chick lost her arm. Overall, good movie.

Saw the movie today and absolutely loved it. The performances are all superb and the movie is VERY faithful to the Charles Portis book. The last 10 minutes or so of the movie come almost word for word from the book.

Great movie!

Meh

I wanted more "grit", less comedy.

I went to Redbox at two in the morning to pick up a copy, watched it, and dug up this thread.
I loved it. I'm watching it again as I write.
