If we moved Okafor to PF

who would you want as our starting center? I think the Oak Tree would make a great defensive PF so we'd probably need a more offensively minded center. Thoughts?

Okafor is not good enough to play PF so it will never happen

well it seems West and Okafor are undersized for their positions...is there anything we can do about that?

West seems to be doing pretty good where he is at.

On HR someone suggested trading for a center and moving Okafor to PF and West to SF. Hahahaha. Some people...

I just watched the video for the Hornets v Bobcats game and noticed that Marco puts out his whole arm for a high five and CP3 walks straight passed him at the end of the 3rd quater.
1.32 into the video!!
WTF is with that?
That can't be too good for team chemistry.
Is this why Marco was in Monty's dog house for most of the game, because CP3 has a hissy fit with Marco's game?
quote:
Marco has regressed a lot. He cost us the early part of the OKC game with turnovers, blown assignments, etc. His value as a 3-point shooter is declining because he won't drive to the basket anymore.

he is a good player, but he is not a starter
thats the problem
monty is trying to start him, but he really is not a big scorer right now ... can he evolve? can he acquire that killer instinct? yes ... but at this moment, he would be a better fit playing with willie green @ 2 unit
That whole place is good for a laugh every now and then.

West to SF
I've seen several people post that before on this site pre-hornets talk board. I'd love to see West try to guard Melo or Durant.

Exactly....
West at SF would be a monumental defensive liability
And why would you want someone at SF who cannot hit the three point shot?

Very Far away!
And Okafor actully can play the 4, he did it in college but when he was drafted by the Bobcats he went to the 5

Trying to move Oak to PF/another team is so first half 2010. The guy's been playing well at C, let's leave him be.

Dude...
Being 6'10" doesn't make you a PF. Okafor doesn't have the offensive skill set to play powerforward. In fact, he has very little offensive skill set, which isn't a job at him, but it's the truth. The only way he scores is off of put back or wide open dunks/layups, and that won't cut it at PF. Look at most, if not all, good-great PFs, they all have at least a decent mid range jumper. Oak might be inconsistent at time, but he's a center and is going to stay there.

He played the 5 in college when they won the nat'l championship with Boone at the 4. Also, just because you can do something in college doesn't mean you would be good at it in the NBA. It's two different worlds.

The question was not he should move to 4 but if we got a good center he has the skills to play 4. Tim Duncan and David Robinson all over again.

FTR, traditionally PF isn't the glamor position you believe it too be.It's more of the banger position. In fact in today's NBA,It's a "counter-punch" strategy to have you best defensive player at power forward, while letting your best offensive player at the 5.It would serve the Hornets well to get bigger in the frontcourt and to move toward a center focused offense.

Amare....Pau....Duncan....Dirk....Boozer....Odom....Griffin....Love....
The only centers in the top 25 in scoring are Howard and Bargnani at 16 and 20, respectively.

What? Show me these "banger" PFs {which Okafor still wouldn't be) in today's game, and compare them to the list of the scoring PFs that the guy above me listed.
