I remember our pre-SEC expansion rivalry well. To that I say:

Has anybody started the Aggie jokes yet?

Welcome Ags! Wish you guys had joined the SEC.

How many Aggies does it take to screw in a light bulb?
One, but he gets 3 hours credit.

What is the difference between the Aggies and Rice Crispies?
Rice Crispies know what to do in a bowl.

Know how to tell a dead aggie lying on the road from a dead armadillo lying on the road?
There will be skid marks in front of the armadillo.

An Aggie went horseback riding one day. Everything was going fine until the horse suddenly started bouncing out of control.
He tried to hang on, but with a foot caught in the stirrup, he fell off headfirst. With his head bouncing up and down, the horse didn't even slow down. And just as the Aggie was giving up hope and losing consciousness, a K-Mart employee came outside and unplugged the horse.

Howdy,
Not to split hairs TriumphTiger, but SEC Expansion and the Conference Championship Game started in 1992. The series between LSU & A&M played up to the 1995 season.
Good luck if you guys do end up coming to the Cotton Bowl. It has been a while since we played Miles from his days at Okie State. Prepare to pay ridiculous prices for food and beer at Jerry World!

There's actually a special place in my heart for A&M because I absolutely despite UT...my brother and sister went to school at UT, and I am from Texas. I have a special bond with the Ags and have always rooted for them against UT.

Expansion is what ultimately ended the series, no?

Plus its hard to believe that a Big 12 defensive line will be a fast and strong as SEC ones.
No, no, no. If you're going to tell 'em, at least tell 'em right. Everyone knows the correct answer is three: One to hold the bulb, and two to rotate the ladder.

Actually, I think we were getting tired of them beating us for like the last 4 years. Many a great game in this series. Look forward to playing them again. Hope that it happens.

What up LSU fans! If there was another team I root for other than A&M, it would be LSU. I've been to the campus a few times, and have had a blast. Love the food, bars, and women. Unfortunately, I've never made it to a game. Anyways, just wanted to say I'm hoping LSU gets the Cotton and here's to a great matchup.

That argument has been made many times, but the logic doesn't seem to hold water. I think Deke's assertion that you guys were running through some bad seasons and really didn't need the extra challenge of the series and its associated losses to further worsen your record at the time when you were trying to build up.
Regardless of what ended it though, it seems to be more the way it ended that left the bad blood.
There is a great amount of tradition in the rivalry though, and it would be nice to fan some of the old flames at the cotton bowl.
