Okay-just some thoughts on this idea. Both will be seniors next year. Even if we bring in Mett, he will have 3 years. Both Lee and Jefferson had their moments this year and made huge plays in different games to secure wins. Both seemed to have the other's back when the other was playing poorly. I say keep the 2 QB sustem and really work on it during spring practice. We sort of threw in in during the season but can you imagine really designing plays and practicing them during spring and fall camps? Work with Lee on the option and running a little because when he went in, it was pretty much a sign to defenses it was a pass. Even if Lee doesn't break away for a long run, he could gaing 5-8 yards and that could go a long way to keeping defenses guessing next year!!!
Both will be seniors and both will be much better!!!

Assuming Mett...I really think he will go into Jerryworld as the starter.

Assuming Crowton stays, I think that the 2 Jefferson, 1 Lee rotation, then based on feel will stay except like this.... 2mett, 1 JJ

JJ can run those spread- like plays and keep the opposition having to prepare for both styles of play

If Mett blows up, then JJ snaps go down to nil

really? you had a guy go from 17 TDs/ 7 ints as a soph to 4 TDs/ 9 INTs as a jr. in the same amt of starts. think about that for a sec.

If Miles is here, JJ is gonna start every game until he runs out of eligibility or dies.

Get used to it.

Strange things happen in a QB's senior year when his back, receivers and line are in tac for another season playing together!!

I don't care what anyone says, JORDAN JEFFERSON is the QB!

He proved it against Alabama and Ole Miss. The guy has a solid game and no one gives him credit for being tough. That dude takes a beating and just keeps getting up and moving on. He gets booed and still shows up to play. He get drilled and then gets up and tosses a TD pass. He might not be the best but he is good for us.

He is a baby that needs praise, so what do you do? You play him every game. You make him your starter. You do not allow him to think he isn't your top choice by using two quarterbacks.

Gary Crowton is the problem! Get rid of him! NEXT!

He's started 26 of the last 27 games, and he's mediocre at best. He's going to be the starting quarterback for the worst 3 years an LSU offense has shown in at least 15 years, probably longer than that.

So, I'm sorry that I'm not going congratulate him on playing less than 10 good quarters of football in the last 104 that he's played.

The guy is going to have more starts under his belt than almost every QB in the country come next year. And, he's still going to finish outside the top 100 QBs out of 120.

After 26 starts, he's finished the year:
103rd QB Rating, 109.7
112th yards, 1253, 104.4/game
83rd comp. %, 56.8
88th yards/att, 6.6
t136th passing TDs, 4
t50th INTS, 9
69th sacks, 16

but, he did rush for 5 more yards/game than Michael Ford. So, I guess he's worth it.

in his defense.......jj is 20 - 7 as a starter.

flynn was 11 - 2
mauck was 18 - 2
not sure on JR, but i think it was in the area of 23 - 5

considering jj is nowhere near the qb these guys were, he has managed the game well.

j lee is 5 - 4 in starts (just from memory), but he has three nice "saves" with auburn 2008, tenn 2010, and florida 2010.

4 TDs and 9 INTs is not managing a game well.

Lee should not be running any type of option, we have plenty or RB and WR who could come in and run a wild cat option. Whats wrong with designed hand off plays to the RB?

4 tds and 9 interceptions is pathetic, but we have been in a position to win every game this season. several times this year receivers were stopped inside the 10. we have run inside the 10 on a consistent basis and have not thrown many redzone tds all season. jj has really led drives by making plays with his legs this season. he has certainly digressed as a passer.

i am far away from being impressed, but jj has distanced himself from j lee at the latter part of the season.

JJ distanced himself in the 2nd half of the Bama game. A game that Lee came in due to injury and had to make a play to secure victory. He also had a really good game against Ole Miss. So, he essentially played well for 6 quarters over the course of the entire season.

Lee distanced himself from JJ many times prior to the Alabama game. So much so that the coaching staff went to Lee in every game that we needed a game winning drive prior to the Alabama game.

Les Miles royally screwed Lee by not giving him a fair shot at starting or getting more significant playing time after he earned it time and time again in the first half of the season. Then, inexplicably, they just stopped playing Lee after the Auburn game. It's almost like he was punished because he couldn't beat Auburn getting to play in only 4 drives.

As bad as I want Mett at QB and a new OC, we still need the O Line to play much better. They seem to take downs off on passing plays. Mett is a whole lot less mobile than JJ. I don't want to see the guy trowing a ton of picks because the O Line is crap like in 08.

Repeat after me:

Jordan Jefferson has no leadership abilities.

None.

Not one iota.

Zilch.

Look, chances are that if Lee became the starter half way through the season, he'd probably not have performed that much better than JJ and we'd probably still have the same record. He hasn't look like a world beater or anything. But...

The problem is that we'll never know because Les didn't give him a fair shake. Instead, he continues to reward JJ for playing like dog crap. So, in return you get JJ making comments like this:

quote:

We're 4-0 -- what am I going to be frustrated about?" Jefferson said. "Auburn and Alabama are Week 8 and Week 9. We'll just keep working.

following an awesome 10/22 for 75 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs against W. Virginia

quote:

He said his play that day reminded him of how Michael Vick dominated during Philadelphia's win over Washington on the previous Monday night.

"That's just kind of how I felt,'' Jefferson said. "I was running the ball, throwing the ball, just doing a lot of things that he did.''

quote:

I played a pretty good ballgame, but it just wasn’t enough on my behalf. The opportunities we had to put points on the board, we should’ve put up there. The defense stopped them a couple of times to give us opportunities, we’ve just got to execute.” - LSU QB Jordan Jefferson on how he and the offense performed

thanks jordan, but you are seeming to forget that while you did have a good half against alabama (along with lee), you are crowing about a great game against ole miss who has by far the worst defense in the sec......hell, even Tenn scored 52 on ole miss...i don't think more needs to be said on that subject..
