Good luck to Zachary...if they can slow down the RB and not turn the ball over tonight, I think they can win.

But wow, 5-5A is down. Catholic, Central and Denham bowing out...all had issues, because all had much more talent last year (except Denham's Offense was better this year). Scotlandville was just 3-7 (1-3 out of district) and Live Oak and Walker each won two fewer games than last year, with Live Oak getting embarrassed by St. Mike's from 4A and Walker losing to Broadmoor from 4A. That 4A didtrict is also VERY weak, with the exception of Woodlawn and last year Live Oak and Walker easily beat St. MIke and Broadmoor.

5-5A next year will be carried by Zachary again, followed by Central, Denham, Scotlandville, Live Oak, then Walker...same finish order as this year. Live Oak and Walker had little this year and not much coming back either apparently. Both should run the option, instead of trying the fancier junk.

What is Acadiana's defense like? Can Zachary put up 40+ points for the 8th game this year?

34 get right. But 3 peat district champ. If I recall Zachary QB threw pic in double over time to seal championship for Central. 19-13

no it's not.

that's how it usually is. no one in that district makes playoff runs

it just gets hyped because most of the posters here are BR area posters

The last 2 years they have had a team in the semi's and the year before last if Briscoe (qb) wouldn't have torn his acl Central would have beat Destrehan and probably won state. When was the last time chalmette won a playoff game?

Jesuit at home, then on the road in the semifinals against either Westgate/Dutchtown/Brother Martin. Well, unless the LHSAA tries to fix another game next week. 29 penalties again and WM might not survive.

Zahary is still up and coming, but they ran into a option buzz saw. Down year for 5-5A.
