I have some questions for the recruiting gurus.

Did you guys expect to see them make any immediate impact wherever they went?

Have they met expectations based on any hype that surrounded them in the recruiting process so far?

Now here is a question regarding LSU:

I once heard that Bolden and Ridley would have been a good RB tandem if they both went to LSU.

Now that was never my opinion, but based on what we had at RB during that time, would this have been realistic? I'm only being curious here.

both were pretty unheralded recruits coming out of high school so they both definitely exceeded expectations

there were quite a few people that thought Ridley was overrated as a running back because of the very small division he played in and that he was going to be a fullback or should be a linebacker because he didnt have the speed to be a good running back in college... obviously he proved he is more than capable and has the WANT to be a good runningback

Bolden just flew under the radar and surpassed more heralded recruits at Miss.

Both were pretty under the radar guys. Ridley played in some weird league where he put insane numbers up I think...

Anyways, Ridley is a hard runner. I like his style but he just doesn't have the acceleration to make big runs. He always makes a good read but can never get to the outside. It is obvious he lost a step after his ACL injury. He is strictly a North/South runner.

Bolden would have kept Ridley's arse on the bench, he's NFL caliber talent. Ridley is not.

Ridley was a 4-star and top 10 at his position coming out of high school. He ran for over 3,000 yds his senior season. Why do people say he was unheralded?

O wanted Ridley, Ridley came to LSU knowing he was behind several guys from the get go.

Bolden was recruited by LSU as a DB not a RB, and its doubtful they would have had room for him as a DB

I was not impressed with Ridley last year but he has been a pleasant surprise this year, his problem is speed (does not have the breakaway speed needed for SEC and NFL) but he is effective in the short power game and seems to get better as the game goes along. You don't think he has that many yards but somehow at end of game he's consistently around 80-100 and that's been much more effective this year than last.

I always thought Bolden would turn out to be a solid NCAA running back. I can understand LSU passing on him... we were solid at the position at the time.

But I knew he would be a very good player wherever he went.

As much as I hate to say it, as an LSU fan... I think Ole Miss was an excellent choice and opportunity for him. I've been happy to view his success there, with the occasional pang of regret. But what's important is that a local kid is doing good. That's always what you want to see.

Remember when Ridley came in, Hester was still here, Scott, R.J. Jackson and K. Williams were all Soph. Richard Murphy had taken a RS the year before. Ridley was listed as a Fullback and we had Quinn Johnson who was a Jr. Ridley was to be the guy behind Quinn, things didn't work out that way. I think LSU and Ridley have done well.

AS I remember, Bolden was considered a slight academic risk.

We should have taken him.

The one position LSU is always loaded is RB. They always have 3-4 good RBs. La HSs produce quality RBs in quanity.

What one do we use? Both are always right.....

I know the guy was a very good LB, but LSU started him at FB and look where he is now. Josh Jasper is a kicker turned RB/Ath?
