This is a really tough thing to swallow this morning (especially since we LOST to Nichols last night).

While it is not unheard for parking charges nationwide on campuses, LSU has steadily started to class out die hard fans, and leaned towards the fans that are a bit more affluent and wealthy.

This move for parking wreaks of greed, and looking at some of the areas that they are charging $40 per game to park in, it's just plain SUCKS! Basically, anything inside Highland and River Road they are charging something.

THE KICKER HERE IS: Apparently, you can't buy season passes to park in these areas...you have to go somewhere at 5pm on Fridays to buy these passes, and in order to get a spot in these zones, your arse better be out there not at 7-8am, but now...5AM! Are you f'n kidding me? Saturday Night in Death Valley will now be sponsored by Red Bull, No Doze, and 5 Hour Energy...

LSU, you are raping us on the big games, and devaluing the smaller games...now you want us to run to parking pass sale locations Friday nights prior to each game to buy a spot?

Out of town season ticket holders under this new policy are completely screwed...you now must take FRIDAY OFF to get to a parking pass location by 5pm Fridays before games in order to park on campus...

NICE!

We are out there @ 5am now. You really can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

If it means keeping our spot on the old front 9, so be it.

The further pussification of Tiger Stadium and the LSU gameday experience.

This nickle and dime shite by LSU and the inevitable traffic clusterfrick this will cause will inevitably make LSU gamedays to much of a hassle to attend on a regular basis.

In a world of HD Tvs and surround sound.. I'll choose the couch.

This pay to park BS is 100% malarkey. Can I afford it yes, will I pay it hell no! This does not nor will it every make me less of a Tiger fan. And everyone that thinks there is nothing wrong with this can smoke a poll! When and where will it stop? $20 & $40 is just the beginning, I am sure in years to come the prices will go up and/or they will tack on a TAF fee. I am done crying about it today, but I will stand by my decision and say to the people that made this happen

Why can't you just park off campus and walk. I have done that a time or two.

I just hope they are smart enough to figure out a way to use some of this cash to land us decent QB!

Aleva is serving us all a big shite burger in 2011, and we are all gonna have to take a bite if you want to continue your traditions on campus that you have been building for the last 10 to 20 years!

I think one of the main problems this addresses is there are tons of people who do not pay anything to LSU or never went to LSU who party out there. LSU is subsidizing their use of bathrooms and garbage. They also have to be policed. I am not in favor of raising prices but to say it should just be a free for all isn't correct. I buy tickets, donate to TAF and LSU Alum. If everyone who went out there were this way I bet they wouldn't be as worried about the money because they would already have everyone's.

I just had to comment on this. Nothing to do with parking but what you are saying here is right to the point. I had season tickets to LSU baseball for 19 years.....1st row by 3rd base. At the new Box the best they said they could do for me is put me in left field. Guess what I told them to do with the tickets?????

This is a fantastic idea & I mean that with 100% sincerity. LSU has been leaving money on the table for decades while every other major program has been making money hand over fist by simply doing things that make sense. My wife went to Tennessee & every time we go to a game she still shakes her head & says "I still can't believe that you not only can just drive onto campus on gameday, but you can park for free." Knoxville, Gainsville, Tuscaloosa, Athens...all of these schools are making millions off parking. LSU is too far behind the curve.

LSU fans have been spoiled rotten. From season tickets with no tradition fund donation required to free on campus parking. it has become the right rather than the privilege to get something for nothing.

Time for everyone to wake up & realize that this is the right thing for the University & for Athletics if we want to do all we can to keep up with the rest of the world.

it's going to be a real cluster .... if they don't sell passes ahead of time. i see no reason not to sell advanced season passes or even pre sell game packages. it's bad enough to have to pay lets don't make it more burdensome.
