I asked that yesterday, bbap, and never got a response
It's nothing to go park a trailer and a couple cara the night before...will someone be out there to charge at all hours of the night?

LSU stated that if you're in one of the shaded areas after 5pm on Friday you better have a pass visible.
ok. thanks.

You have to have a pass if you want to get on campus after 5pm FRIDAY NIGHT.

Gotcha, didn't see your post

the casual tailgater is pretty much eliminated.
i don't get this. from what i read it's the big groups needing drop offs and trailers that are severely affected. casual tailgaters have no problem paying the 20 bucks because they aren't looking for the prime spots and can fit everything into one vehicle.
or are you saying the people who walk up to your tailgate and don't bring anything (but pay dues i'm sure) are the ones who will be affected? i don't see that either.
i see the good and bad of this situation so don't feel i'm attacking your statement. i just don't understand how it will eliminate the casual tailgater. if anything i think it will increase the casual crowd.

everything around the area where Golfer tailgates will now be $40 per game
i think people will be a lot more picky when it comes to which games they will tailgate for
as many others have said, games like Western Kentucky, Kentucky (maybe) and Northwestern St. will take large attendance hits. NW St. a little less so than usual because if it being first home game.

I think he's referring to those who just come to tailgate, watch the game at the tailgate, then go home.
Who is going to pay $20 or $40 just to have the right to do that. They'll probably just stay at home now.

People already contribute $10-20 a tailgate and are usually coming from all over. Now your buddy who was at his kids football game and can't meet up with anyone to ride out there is going to say f-it, ill just go home.

even without a ticket i will still be tailgating.
why? because i like it and i still can't handle crowds too well. i'm not out there just to be out there. if it eliminates a chunk of that crowd then i see it as a plus. people come out and use lsu's campus as their own private party spot and give nothing back to the university. this will either push them out or force them to cough up a few bucks each weekend.
i wish i could see the numbers how now much lsu's tailgating has actually grown over the past 10 years. seems like every other person has their own "krewe" starting up and what not. maybe it needed to be water down a little bit. i don't agree with the prices and charging for river road at all. but i see some logic in starting the charge.
say someone say the lots would open up 3 hours before game time. this true? is it also true for 2:30 games?

then lets start with opening up those $40 lots to season ticket holders that don't already have parking passes
create priority by length of holding tickets and then tiebreaker by number of tickets owned
offer 1 spot for 1-2 season tickets, 2 spots for 3-4 tickets, 3 spots for 5-6 tickets, etc.
LSU needs to first be loyal to those that are loyal to them (i.e. season ticket holders)

This would be awesome. My group has 12 season tickets under one name.

Where do you think most tickets on stubb hub & scalpers originate from? I buy season tickets every year from guess what? (other season ticket holders) I am also a member of TAF and when I purchase the tickets I pay their included TAF fee.
I don't bitch about this because I like prime seats and you just can't get those through TAF, but you saying season ticket holders are loyal is horsecrap. Most season ticket holders in lower bowl area are passed down from families and that's cool, but it has nothing to do with their loyalty. For lots it's a cash cow!

This is ridiculous. Isn't LSU a public school? Don't we pay taxes to support them? Anyone up for a class action suit to stop this?
No, this post is ridiculous. Wah, wah let's call a lawyer!

I have nobody to thank but myself and my parents. Out-of-state tuition.

when a tailgate fee is included in your tuition
You'd think I'd be allowed to park on campus to watch fellow student-athletes pursue University sponsored contests. That has to be somewhere on my fee bill...
