S Carolina beating Bama could possibly have cost LSU a shot at the NC. IF Bama wins that game and beats AUB, and LSU wins out. Bama, Aub, and LSU are all 7-1, 3 way tie, LSU would be the highest ranked in the BCS at that point.

Is the BCS one of the last deciders in a three-way tie in the SECW? I know we took adv of a similar rule two years ago

We would have been.

Perfect three-way tie among Alabama, Auburn and LSU.

We would have the higher BCS ranking because:
1) Our loss came first
2) Our non-conference wins, and therefore our strength of schedule, is best.

Yes, but there would be almost nothing differentiating the three teams:

All would have won at home and lost on the road, and by a touchdown or less (assuming a close Bama win the Iron bowl)

So then LSU's wins over two BCS non-conference opponents would put us there.

Might be close, but it would get us there.

Alabama would have been #1 all the way to the LSU game and wouldn't have dropped that far.

LSU's superior computer rating probably would put them on top of the BCS standing out of the three but it would be very close.

Almost like a 3, 4, 5 thing.

Dude... Its AU and Bama and the SEC. You know we would have been screwed somehow. No way Slive and the SEC lets us through.

This was a year that required us to go undefeated to get a shot at the NC. We didn't do it. Nuff said.

WOW! this is not that difficult to comprehend...
If BAMA didn't lose to SC and we lost to AU and beat BAMA and then BAMA beat AU we would ALL have 1 loss (each being ON THE ROAD). At this point it would go to the highest BCS ranking which would be US (LSU) because our loss would have happened earliest. We would go to the SECC game and if we won and got some help in the polls would be playing in the NCC...COME ON MAN!!!
Too bad (granted the scenerio was accurate) we couldn't just convince the SEC to allow us to put our mascots (live) into a concrete room and just hash it out and the one remaining after 5 min. would go to Atlanta...
