Not sure I understand the expectations if Mettenberger were to pick LSU.
Regardless of his purported talent he has zero starting experience in the SEC. No one seriously believes there would be open competition. No one is unseating JJ next year.
Plus, there's the Crowton offense.

The guy was slated to be the starting QB at UGA. Our offense has ranked in the 100's nationally for two years running. We are solid QB play away from playing for SEC and National Titles this year. If he is not given a legitiamate chance, not just lip service, to start next year, then our coaches aren't trying to win.

I heard from an inside source close to Les Miles that it's already been decided that Mettenberger will not start against Ole Miss next Saturday.

I'm hoping it won't be the Crowton offense, and we'll have an actual coach who can develop QBs here for Spring practice

If we have a new OC he has just as good as chance as the other too.

He still has to commit to us.

what people fail to realize is that we don't need Mettenberger for next year. we need him in between our two seniors next year and rivers. we need a QB to bridge the gap and give Rivers time to develop.

Bingo Don hit the nail on the head. Les will not play Mettenberger over JJ next year. It ain't gonna happen. Mett is for 2 years from now. By the way Crowton returns next year. Let it go. This is how it is. Let's move on.

another year with one of the worst offenses in the country, so there's that to look forward to.

He already redshirted at UGA, so he can't redshirt again.

Fact is likely that one of JJ and JL will transfer after this season. I don't think either will be happy playing in this 2 QB system for another year. That leaves Mettenberger as the likely back up to the one who stays.

FACT IS?

We will all learn the truth of the matter in the spring.

If Mett really comes on board, he's going to be here for spring practice. If he is all that good, we and JL and JJ will see in the spring game.

Not saying it's not possible, I was referring to Les being willing to select an inexperiencied rookie over JJ or JL

FWIW, I would assume you would acknowledge thAt Newton is an unusual talent. Murray has played well at times and looks like a future star but he has made plenty of frosh mistakes which have cost UGa.

He'll be here for the bowl practice in December if he decides to go to LSU. However, I'll be shocked if Miles plays Mett over 2 seniors next year. I really hope to be shocked, but I'll still be shocked.
