No AT&T reception in the stadium

Nome of the people I sat with in the stadium (east upper) last night could get data on their phones during the game. Only the one guy with verizon.

AT&T just sucks arse, period, Verizon is a much better carrier......

Or it could be that Verizon has transmitters that increase coverage in Tiger Stadium (because of being a sponsor) whereas AT&T doesn't. And when you have 100,000 people on one tower, there will be connections timing out.
This is more believable than the blocking thing. Hotels will put those same transmitters in their hotels so that guests will have cell phone coverage.

I can never get it either with AT&T, but I also have trouble at Chimes or other parts of campus too sometimes.
I assume it is the sheer volume of people trying to use the same tower.

My phone was useless last night during the game, but after the game while still in the stadium my phone suddenly started getting bars.

I always get a kick out of coming home after going to a game, and my phone will light up in my driveway - messages and missed calls. After the Bama game, it was ridiculous like ten messages in a row.

Because people were leaving campus and getting off the tower.
For anybody that's ever worked at LSU, the network is damn near inaccessible right after lunch because you have the entire campus trying to jump back on at once.

i have at&t because 99% of the people I know have it. I hate it though. I cant wait for my contract to end. Im tired of their shitty arse network around most of the baton rouge area.

Yeah, same story here, too. I even tried to connect to the public wi-fi, and it would signal a connection, but would never actually connect. You'd think a college campus would strive for adequate technology.

Yeah, that seems to be the problem in BR, everyone has it because everyone has it. It is like circle of bad service that keeps repeating itself. But then again, maybe if everyone got on Verizon it would be shity too, but I think AT&T's problem is more coverage than usage in BR (and a combination of the two on gameday).
edit: I just consistently see people gripe about AT&T, seems like people would just choose a different carrier. Not like there aren't other options.
