That was in my playbook in High School - 1968. We ran it once, for a gain of about 25 yards.

We also had a fumble-rooski, a Bum-a-rooski (Bum Phillips was coaching HS at the time just across the Sabine River from us). We ran each of these once during the year. Had a swinging-gate play also.

I think one of the reasons we practiced them was to give our defense a chance to see them and know how to defend.

Oh, by the way, we played in the State Finals that year against Woodlawn High (Shreveport) with Joe Ferguson as their quarterback. Were we chickenshit? You decide.

Was that at Port Neches??

We played them back in '55
