Miles refused to elaborate on a coaching rumor linking him to a potential job opening at Colorado. The rumor circulated in a blog post by Denver Post columnist Woody Paige. Buffaloes coach Dan Hawkins is expected to be fired at the end of the season.

I doubt he will but why not? He'd have to take a paycut but he'd still make a couple million at CU with 100x less pressure. If he built Colorado back up to 9 wins a year level they'd love him obviously he can't do that here.

Les Miles salary = $3.75 million

Dan Hawkins salary = $1.3 million

Les Miles may appear dumb to many of us, but he's not that dumb.

Would you really feel the need to refute rumors that you were a candidate for a job that pays 1/3 your current salary?

They would probably pay Les about 2.5 million to go and coach there. It would still be a nice chunk of change to leave on the table, also knowing if LSU were to fire him he gets a buyout.

No way he goes unless it is family reasons

According to sources that say they are directly in touch with AD at Colorado are saying he has no interest in Miles.

Les, is that you? That was almost completely incoherent.

According to Belowpar, these rumors are 100% false, no legs at all, and Miles is happy.

I have heard from an unknown source that Miles may be considering retirement after this season. The supposed reason is that the brain lesion he had removed back in 2000, is becoming a "concern" or "effecting" Miles from all the pressure of the LSU job and may need a break or less stressful job.

TIFWIW...the email I received about it is second info but the source is said to be inside the program.

Isn't Colorado's athletic dept like 30 million in debt and will basically get nothing from the Big 12 for this year. I don't think they'll have the money to lure Miles away.

Haven't heard the retirement part, but I have heard from some big time donors that miles has been having some mini-seizures due to past medical problems that you mentioned.
