How many of you have watched games this weekend and wondered how is our offense so inept. We supposedly have talent. Is it scheme is it play calling, or is it simply execution. It just blows my mind that we can be that unproductive and our coaching staff can't do shite about it. I have watched a lot of football over the years and have never been more frustrated watching a unit underperform like they have for the last two years. I don't see how Les can not at this point get rid of Crowton and let someone else call plays.

Every team you are watching has two things in common... A qualified OC.... And a QB

I just read the article on the front page about our offense.

Read it and youll have your answer.

Cliffnotes: B/c LM is an idiot and he doesn't know.
If you read it and come back with a diff conclusion than I did, Id love to hear it.

It is the butting heads of 2 offensive philosophies IMO.

There are also the instances of putting square pegs in round holes.

Examples:

JL running the zone read when he runs a 4.9 or something like that.

Getting Ridley and Ford to run to the outside, when they are actually North-South runners and not East-West runners.

Crowton is the scapegoat for Les's interference with the offense.

One thing we DEFINITELY need to be doing is running the wild cat and if you think about it, it makes loads of sense. Our wildcat package could be so diverse but we have one of the best personnel for it. You can have shep lined up at QB with ridley and ware flanking him, or RR at QB with shep and ware flanking him, or ware at QB and shep and RR flanking him. RR, Shep, and Ware played QB in high school so at minimum they know how to take snaps. Putting them in the game takes JJ and the entire QB situation out the game. We should be running this formation at least 5 times a game.

Primarily lack of QB play. Why the QB position has atrophied is another question. There will be no answers forthcoming from the STAFF. The rant must draw its own conclusions.

The O-line is probably average to below average. The running game has no break away threat. The receivers have a knack for the dropsy...Otherwise, the O is tip top!

as has been said, QB development is a big reason. overall, I think Crowton's downfall is that he tries to do too much/ get too cute. we had the pieces in place in 07 to make that work, since then not so much.

I'd like to see us find something we do well and then branch off from there. and if it's going good, stick with it. Crowton seems to abandon something that's working before the opponent has shown they can consistently stop it. like he's trying to outsmart ppl unnecessarily.

Pretty much, although you have to go ahead and add horrible communication and team instruction as well.

well my prime example of that is Chuck Scott vs. UK in 07, but yeah, that's one too.

BINGO! Give that man a box of cookies! I don't think the man can relate what he sees in his head to what actually happens on the field.
Add in the other things noted here and you've got the recipe for the fallen cake that is our O.

Need a teaching coach. Last night Northwestern beat Sam Houston for 3 in a row. Last year Peveto did not win a game, right? Why the turn around?? They hired Jay Thomas who is noted to be a great teaching coach on DL and D. He would not be a stand up comic like LM, but he is a teacher and his players buy into his teaching. They get better and play as a unit. Plus, he recognizes talent and where to play them. My answer....WE NEED A BETTER COACH.m (Not touting JT for O coach. LOL!)

This. Throw in terrible personnel decisions and we have our answer.

There's no way in hell LSU's problems on offense have a damn thing to do with "simple execution." That lie should have gotten exposed years ago.

Really, it can be summed up with ONE constant play call.

We have an OC that is so fricking stupid, he ROUTINELY calls the read option when JL is in at QB.

If there is a dumber call possible, only GC will be able to discover it.

Every time he makes that call, it reaffirms in my mind that the dude is incompetent.
