With some teams its not as simple as comparing talent levels or matchups. With LSU you have to factor in the Les Miles/Gary Crowton element as well. When we fail to include their participation in regard to the games outcome we do so at our own peril.

Bama matches up well against us actually. The strength of our defense is speed, with a clear weakness versus power running. The strength of their offense is power running, with zone blocking schemes to take advantage of speedy defenses (see Auburn).
The only strength of our offense is really the power rush game. Alabama's defense is fast and unlike our defense, their defensive line is more of a gap control as opposed to our defensive line that is a shoot the gap type. I think Alabama will shut down Cam Newton as well because of their size....
If there's one team that we don't match up well against, it is Alabama. Then again, we've played them close even when we lost to them, so I'm not saying that we won't win. I'm just saying that on paper, the match up goes to them.
