Denver Post Today..Big Issues:Who, when?...Les obvious choice..

..."that brings us to the successor search, which is going on now. I'm told there are four people atop the target list: Bill McCartney, Alabama offensive coordinator, Jim McElwain, Auburn offensive coordinator, Gus Malzahn and LSU coach Les Miles."
Goes on to say the following: "Miles is the obvious choice and it's apparently a possibility. I can't blame him. Every time I wade thruogh the sleaze and sweat of the SEC, I want to take a really long, hot shower. The guy is three years removed from a national title, was 7-0 and sixth in the country and fighting for his job. He will have to take a massive pay cut from his $3.95M haul, but Colorado boosters can gather enough funds to make at least a respectable bid."

I like this quote.

WTF does that even mean? The SEC is too competitive for this guy?

Miles is not taking a pay cut to go to Boulder

Oh, please, let it be so!

Seriously? The SEC is a cutthroat league where the overpaid coaches are constantly lying and stabbing each other in the back for recruits and the "fans" are ready to lynch the coaches after losses etc. It's a sleazy money-driven conference....fun to watch though.

I think he means that SEC fans have suffocating expectations and maybe that it's hard with all the competition to run a clean, non-thuggish program like Les does.

It's Denver, they only play real football in the SEC, we all know this, the country knows this after four straight national champions

No, it means SEC fans are a very bitter mean-spirited bunch of whiny MOFOS that expect thier coaches to bring a MNC to thier school every year.

Honestly if Cam comes back I'd rather him take Malzahn.

Thats what makes this league the best

I was told on the rant that no other teams from big conferences would ever possibly consider trying to get Miles away from LSU. I love all the absolute statements that people on here make with no merit.

If he wants to take a pay cut and the boosters for CU pick up the rest of the tab on the difference I say more power to him. I think this would be a great deal for Les. He is perfect for Colorado. No real big national exposure, can bring the program back as a winner. Think about it what is he doing here right now that makes you think things are gonna get any better here. Its like a flat drink no FIZZ here any more. Id understand the move.

wont happen

I don't think he or anyone would take a massive pay cut but I can see Les taking 2-2.5 million with some extra from the boosters and sliding out of town.

Hope Les gets offered and takes the job. UC needs a "Big 10" style coach and LSU needs an SEC caliber coach who runs a program with discipline and order...
God, please make it happen !!!
