and tell Lee/Jefferson "Let's see if you can beat us"

how do you combat this if you're Miles or Crowton? I think we will continue to see alot of horizontal passes with Lee in the game

with JJ, alot of sub 10 yard routes

Ridley up the middle. Duh.

Actually it might not be a bad plan to counter the blitz.

This

We have a deficiency at the QB position, plain and simple.

However, if it were me, I would run the spread most of the game, take them out of what they want to do, and throw right at their secondary. It's a huge risk/reward strategy but the other option is a sure fire death by 1,000 cuts scenario and we lose.

Crowton had a hard time figuring out how to beat McNeese.

I'm no coach but it seems to me it has to be something Bama hasn't seen from LSU so far but in any case, the O-line is going to have to be much better than they were at Auburn or its going to be a LLLOOOONNNNGGGG F'ing afternoon!!!

Their secondary is suspect. Auburn's is even worse though and we saw how that worked out, so...

Wow an actual educated, SMART response backed up with common sense. I really "enjoy" the above remarks.

We'll use our best weapon, Helton, to give Alabama as much yardage possible.

If you think Auburn pushed us around, wait'll you get a load of Alabama.

I really don't think it'll end up more than 2 scores, because I don't expect Alabama to get their yardage in chunks like Auburn did.

But, it will nonetheless be very painful and slow, like the other poster commented, a 1000 cuts.

Hell, I wouldn't know how to exit Tiger Stadium any other way.

I'll take "Things That Aren't In The LSU Playbook" for $1000, Alex.

Lots of 5 and 7 step drops with all routes going beyond 10yds and no safety valves.

Is hot reads so hard to do? You bring 7-8, you have 4 wide split, someone is going to be open. Likely 2 guys will be open immediately off the line if you can recognize where the blitz is coming. Unfortunately, Saban is the master of disguised blitzes.

Thats what an intelligent OC and HC would put in their game plan.

Aub's secondary is worse than Bama's and we saw the pathetic playcalling.

I bet GC and Miles scheme about this for 2 weeks and then decide to run straight up the middle with Ridley or throw 4 yard underneath passes with JL. I suspect the coaches have ZERO confidence in either QB to complete a pass over 10 yards.
