Not sure if this was posted here before, but I just wanted to link to another post on the recruiting board about the UGA spring game.

LINK

I really really like his video, for those wondering he is #5. I noticed a few NFL caliber throws, and good pocket presence...I wouldn't call him immobile.

I can't see how he will not start for us if he decides to come here.

Unless he becomes a deaf mute he'll start here next year. There's just no way he doesn't.

Except Les is our coach and I can see the QB rotation continuing.

That's a big "exception"!

Something tells me he wouldn't recruit Zach personally if he didn't see the potential in this kid. There really is no comparison, he could be as good for us as Jamarcus Russell was and he is further along as a Junior.

Thanks to UGA's coaching staff!

It is interesting and telling to read the comments on the bottom of that video. Now, most UGA fans will tell you that their current starter would have been the starter anyway. The comments seem to lead one in a different direction.

Notice the foot work on hand-offs, fakes and roll outs. Our fakes and footwork are a joke. QB coaching is null and void..

I would be shocked if he came to Baton Rouge and threw more than 30 passes next year. JJ will still be the starter, no matter what. Hell, if his putrid play this season won't find him a seat on the bench, then nothing short of a felony conviction will.

Then, there's Lee. If he stays for his final season, does he rot on the bench? I don't think so.

Mettenberger will see some PT, but don't expect much.

Agree with all that except 30 passes

I don't think he gets that many

His throwing motion looks a lot like Kerry Collins' motion.

Yes, but can he run the option?

wow. I guess I kind of underestimated the post-game doom and gloom that still permeates this board.

Why, I was just starting to get excited about having a real QB for next season along with a new OC

While lsu may get mett, there is ZERO indication he'd start over two seniors.

Are you high?

Two things:

(1) If we sign ZM, either Lee or JJ will transfer, and
(2) Which one transfers will depend on who replaces Crowton (I think he is gone) and the style of offense in which that person prefers...

ZM might not be the starter against Oregon, but I bet he starts by MSU. Either way, he will be a big difference maker for this team if he decides to commit.

Don't think I implied the decision was already made. If you'd looked at my post a little objectively, you would have realized I was making a comment from the video and the caliber of throws that he was capable of making compared to our current QBs.

One thing:

We are not short on Spring Game highlights,

We have a pretty good highlight reel in games where your QB can not be hit.

No, the ones who are uninformed will tell you that for the same reason I posted in the other thread....the only exposure they ever had to ZM was seeing him in ONE PRACTICE.

And I'm not sure that the people commenting on a youtube video are very credible sources of information.

Look at him at 1:02... wow his release is quick

sometimes he holds the ball out there a little too long but I think that can be coached out

if only we hire a decent qb coach when we ditch Crowton
