Are times simply changing?

LIsten. I am nothing more than an 18-year-old that has followed the tigers at home and on the road many of time, so no flame is necessary.
Anyway, imo, if you look across the college football landscape, it just seems like what we saw yesterday is far more common than we think (ex: Carolina and Mizzou kicking Bama and OU's arse). Stoops and Saban were out-coached, plain and simple. However, that certainly doesn't indicate that Spurrier and Pinkel are far superior coaches. Wouldn't it just show that parity has made its way to cfb, and everyone has their fair share of fantastic athletes (shite, even KENTUCKY and State)? Clock blunders have come from great coaches (Spurrier a few weeks ago, Mack last season, etc.). Hell, great coaches even make poor hires at times.
I just think we should let it play out. Crowton looks to be out the door nonetheless. We are arguably the SEC's youngest team with a fantastic class on the way. I have seen what the SEC offers from tailgating to bands, and we do not take a seat back to anyone. Our tradition is unprecedented to 80% of the college football landscape. Oh, and we're 7-1 with our two biggest rivals coming to Death Valley this November. My point: a good bit of you guys take being an LSU Tiger for granted. We have got it pretty damn good. Cut out the fricking booing; a lot of you grown-fricking men owe JJ an apology. We needed him more than ever yesterday. Let's get behind these guys, because I sure would like to be in NOLA come January 3rd. There is all-too-much to play for at this point.
Eh, ignore the last paragraph;nothing more than me rambling. The question is in the second paragraph.

wise beyond your years
And yes, I think parity has made it's way into college football and the result will soon be a playoff system.

I think you make good points. The game has changed at this level a lot over the last 10 years or so.
That said, there's no denying that our current staff underachieves. Yes, great coaches underachieve from time to time, as stated, but ours does it on a consistent basis. This team hopes to win every week. Great teams expect to win. We need that attitude back

overall, i would have to agree with you. this post is almost too logical for the rant

Nope. Crowton has just been too pathetic for too long. Obviously i do not write the checks, but the restlessness of the higher-ups will probably press as hard as they did with the Mallveto fiasco. It is nothing more than a hunch, going by this season and the past few seasons.

How do you have that many posts, and still have that much common sense?

I agree. Some of the fans on here are pretty pathetic. I grew up in Arkansas, and I know the fans there would KILL to have a coach that averages 10 wins a season. Every coach is gonna slip up, even the great ones. Les is a proven commodity and I personally believe with a new OC this team can play alot better.

Well said, Sir. Go thank your parents for teaching you a little thing called perspective.

thanks for the kind words, but it's nothing more than observations.
It is just beyond sad the "big dogs" of this board will shite on our coaching staff and how JJ blows. Well, I am sure they were a tad tight-lipped durint that game when he totally out-played Lee. Even I was stunned, but I did come to one realization: the fans do not know shite, plain and simple. Every aspect of what they do has reasoning behind it. The problem is that most coaches make a fortune, as well as their top-notch staffs (See MSU and UK), all have their fair share of athletes. We just need to start looking at the big picture with more athletes and more programs investing in their programs.
Now, I am beyond frustrated on our offensive production...but there's nothing you and I can do about it. Some of you feel like Les does not see the lack of production.
Now, let's take some notes from AU fans:stay in your seats, get loud, don't boo. I would imagine bridgewater, jernigan, and Robinson's officials would be a bit more special if we did those few simple things.

Why does he leave Crowton as the offensive coordinator after such poor offensive play for 2 years?
Posted on 10/24/10 at 8:49 pm to ps101
2008's offense is not why we were awful that season. We put up points plenty of times, and a dynamite showing in the Chik-fil-a Bowl with a true freshman at QB sure showed a whole lot of promise, no one can deny that.
Last season was terrible, and this season has seen a minimal difference. It just seems to be a common trend that a change is on the way. Maybe Gonzales is being "mentored" and was enticed with a OC in-the-wings proposal following this season? Who knows? But that is the moral of this thread: no one freaking knows.

I can't see Crowton being shown the door if we get ZM. IMO, you'll see another top offense in the SEC with him at the helm.
Posted on 10/25/10 at 8:03 am to TigerRagAndrew
Mmmm....Crowton sure had a lot of talent at UO, and he failed to utilize that. GC is where my pessimist side comes out. We are a total mess on offense.
