If we had Flynn and Hester go for it. So, punt and maybe get a hold, or turn over.

When the play was being executed I thought the confusion was "intentional" because how it the world could we do this again

Only with Les Miles as coach would anyone think this was designed confusion. Sadly, I wondered then same thing.

I had no problem with the last play other than how could we have confushion on the most important play of the game AFTER a timeout? Also, Tolliver just ran out 4 yards and stopped - thus clogging up that side of the field. He just watched Lee run the ball and didn't he try to block. Clearly, the receivers did not know what routes to run but still you have to improvise when the crap hits the fan

But at least we tried. It's absolutely the right call.

If we would have pulled what Oklahoma did last night--punting down 9 with 2:30 left and one timeout--what would people be saying?

Yea, this offense just smells of productivity. Especially on 4th, because they had 3 practice tries.

Which is exactly why you do go for it on fourth down. So you are saying we should have punted and try to stop them to get the ball back, but then you say we didn't get the ball back anyway. Kind of the whole point in going for it.

Like others, I don't mind that we went for it but I do mind the confusion after a timeout on 4th down.

We had to go for it there. We couldn't stop Auburns running all day, so you had to figure we would not get the ball back.

However, the cluster that ensued after the tiemout was vintage Les Miles. I don't care what his overall record is, how many times do we have to see that before we all admit we will never reach our potential as long as he is coaching here.

Lee had no idea what was going on before and during that play.

That's because we had 10 guys on the field

This offense is simply poorly coached with poor QB play. Players are often confused and do not execute because of lack of coaching.

The call to go for it on 4th was the right call. Coaches call a TO and cannot even communicate basic plan and scenario management for Lee. Players come on the field confused, chaos flares up, and players react and ad lib a play that easily fails. It's all coaching!

Fire Crowton now! This needs to be done now. Begin early search to replace him and recruit a damn QB. Miles and Gonzo can handle O rest of year.

i dont think a single receiver knew which route he was supposed to run OUT OF A TIMEOUT which is pretty inexcuseable. unsurprising nonetheless from a crowton coached offense on a miles coached team.

I know Miles gets the ultimate blame but somehow I believe the clusterfrick of an offense we have is on Crowton.

I actually believe this would put a better product on the field. At least there would be a consistent offensively philosophy, which is something that is totally missing currently. This team has no offensive identify.

Lee really should have called timeout there, that play is too critical to snap the ball given that no one seemed to know what play is being ran. Why there is continued confusion after a timeout is mind-blowing. It happened earlier when they called timeout because JJ was confused by the possible corner blitz.

How could this happen? Didn't Miles hire a passing game coordinater?.

Les will likely never really tell us what went wrong on our 4th and 6 play...

...even IF Les actually KNOWS what happened.
