What was the reason he decommited from LSU and went to Oregon??

Who would you rather have DT or JJ as both came out in 2008??

Don't know about that, Pac 10 blows. How is Masoli working out for Ole Miss? I hate threads like this, you can say DT would win the Heisman at LSU, and I could say that he would get obliterated in the SEC.

Ole Miss don't have the talent at the Skill positions that Oregon has. Brandon Bolden is no LaMichael James, and Oregon's WR's and TE are really good as well. Also Houston Nutt really isn't that good of a coach. He is definatly not in Chip Kelly's league.

Edited to add: Masoli teamed up with Dexter McCluster, Shay Hodge and an un-suspended Pat Patterson would've been huge to go along with Bolden.

SI said it was because Miles called DT an athlete and DT wanted to be called a QB.

I wanna say we kinda let him go but it's been a while.

The bigger question is who would you rather have Thomas or Robert Griffin III? We sure could use either or both.

Why? Deangelo Peterson is doing a pretty good job.

Why? LSU has a better version of him and he touches the ball 5 times a game.

Pretty much. They are fairly similar... JJ has a better arm, DT is a better runner.

Its an unknown, he certainly wouldnt have those #s like he does as a duck. His success is a product of the system. (see Masoli if you think otherwise).

I think Thomas fits Coach Kelly's system perfectly and Coach Kelly coaches quarterbacks as well as anybody in college football.

Thomas is certainly much quicker but I also think he can throw very well and is much more accurate. I think QB coaching has a lot to do with what he has become.

considering we use JJ as a "running" QB when he can't run that well, i could only imagine what we could do with a QB who could actually run in that role

no kidding. How JJ got stuck with that label, I'll never know.

He must run about a 5.0 in the 40.

i bet he's faster than that

wouldn't shock me if he ran a 4.6 something

but he just isn't a runner. he was never a runner, and we've tried to make him into one

I think his running skills are underrated at this point, the way people dog him for it.

He's run the zone/read, midline veer stuff very well this season.

He's not super shifty, but he's a near guarantee to pick up 5+ yards on most runs.

He's not adept at running the classic option (though he's improved there as well), but when you get him running straight ahead, he's been very good.
