First let me say, if you're a LSU fan you can't be all bad. But a lot of you never seem to be satisfied. You expect us to beat teams like Vandy, McNeese, and others by 50 or more points, and you're pissed when we fall short of that expectation. It appears easy for you to forget when we used to do just that, but then we also always lost to Bama, Florida, and one or two more each season. Yes, we had those big blowout wins that got everyone excited, but then someone always came along to tag us with the mediocre label, every year. Is that what you want to return to?

Les Miles has never coached football that way. He prefers to navigate his way through the schedule, keeping it close to the vest until he absolutely needs to get aggressive. This is how he coaches and it's exciting.....and by the way, it works.

I agree that he is conservative, but he could exhibit better clock management and personnel decisions through the process..

Close to the vest against AU in 2006 worked out well.

Same for UNC this season.

I see. So when he substituted half the offense on the 1 yard line with 20 seconds left and no timeouts, he was just playing it close to the vest. What a fox.

Sort of like Tennessee game?
Your statement is false. You think that Miles is keeping it close until he gets aggressive?
No, this is Miles doing the best that he can.

Well then stay up there in the bleachers yelling like an idiot, while the team celebrates another victory.

It's not exciting to watch us fart around against bad teams instead of putting them away by executing well and in general growing into a team that maximizes it's potential.

And, no, it doesn't work. Les's way of "navigating the schedule" has led to one SEC championship in 5 years with us losing at least a couple of games every year. If a few lucky bounces had gone the other way this year, we would be staring at our 3rd straight year not even in SEC west contention. "If if was a fifth", I know, but it's childish and irrational to just ignore reality b/c you don't like the word if.

I've heard a lot of defenses of Les Miles but defending him by saying he has some sort of masterminded process probably takes the cake.

Bottom lin is we've played, if not the toughest then one of the toughest schedule in the country and we're 7-0. ....bad teams??

Maybe he isn't a very aggressive coach. But i don't believe it's his STYLE of coaching that everyone is complaining about. Nick Saban isn't a very aggressive coach either. He pounds the ball right at you and let's you know it's coming and still wins football games. But he wins because although his playcalling isn't aggressive, he knows how to utilize his talent and knows clock management. I'm not upset with our football team at all this year. I didn't expect that much coming in to this year. But Miles is an idiot and thats a fact.

You do realize we play one of the toughest schedules in the country year in and year out. The SEC has two of the best coaches in the country which we face every single year and we have a 3-3 record against one of them. We recruit better than just about anyone in the country and won a championship just a few years ago. What more do you want? We dont play in the WAC we play in the SEC were gonna lose every now and then to programs that are just as big as ours. Florida and Alabama are bigtime programs this isnt the WAC.

I just wonder why a team like UGA that is "down" can come behind us a blow out the Vandy and Tenn teams that Les struggled against.

Let them blow out Vandy then... When was the last time UGA won a championship? We finish higher than them almost every single year.

Because they throw everything into EVERY game. They have to just to win a few of them. We're contending for a conference and possibly national championship. The less we give the Auburns and Alabamas to look at on film, the better.
Special note: I know I'm gonna get hammered by the naysayers for that last statement.

I just want the team to play to their potential. Call me an optimist but I believe this team will play their best game saturday.
