Does John Chavous have an eye out for any of these "big backs" either committs hilliard (weight by next fall?) or hill, or current roster guys ware, ford, worle or blue? Maybe a switch to LB will be part of the effort to reduce the numbers at TB, and provide Chavous with what he wants?

Why so quiet at LB for our 2011 recruitment? It would seem that with Francois and Baker out after 2011, a great opportunity is there for THIS class to bring in more than just Randle (plus maclin just slid down to end)?

Transfers and decommits at RB would be a downer. What am I missing in this puzzle?

Les has a bigger eye out for big backs.

Addai, Hester, Charles Scott, Ridley, Ware then Hilliard.

Book It!!!

It's been like that for the past 20 years. Louisiana High Schools just don't churn out that many quality linebackers.

Linebackers next year.

Kevin Minter Ryan Baker
Stefoin Francois Lamin Barrow
Tahj Jones Luke Muncie
D.J. Welter

Justin Maclin may still play some LBer if need be. Randle will be coming in next year and hopefuly Trey Granier the year after that.

Who's this Chavous character of which you speak? It has to be illegal or at least an infraction for someone not employed by LSU to steal running backs.

I still think Loston could be moved to LB.

Actually, seems like I read both before & after NSD last February, the Tigers might consider Blue as a possible linebacker. I was wondering with all the RB's already on the roster, plus Hill & Hilliard joining the team next season, if that is still a possibility.

Where has Barrow been after seeing the field quite a bit the first two games?

Because it is not as big of a need as it appears right now. You forget that LSU has S on their roster right now that probably will be converted to OLB...

Reid definitely has the frame, I'm not sure they'd convert him though.

Next year:

Randle-FR
Muncie-FR
Welter-FR
Minter-SO
Jones-SO
Barrow-SO
Maclin(moved to DE I think)-SO
Francois-SR
Baker-SR
Johns?-SO
Duplessis?-SO

Someone will probably be converted from S. 3 Deep in every position, we're ok.

Baker got healthy. Barrow's played a little bit in reprieve of him since then

I'll say this about the lb recruiting. Its been both bad and great. Bad in that we have not gotten a lot of the recruits we have targeted and the margin for error is very slim because of this. At the same time, the recruits we have landed have worked out very well and there hasn't been a bust at that position for a while.

I think we really need another linebacker in this class though.

I wouldn't rule out blue moving, he brings the hat on ST. Maybe with the log jam at rb he'll see it's his best shot at getting to the NFL.

We also have Granier and Collins coming here next year. Collins could be a starter from day 1

Im really not sold on Francois at LB...who was moved from Safety. But ill obviously defer to Chavis and his choices. It just seems Francois is not the playmaker at LB that he was as a Safety in HS.
