This week LSU needs to work on a pump for the bubble screen and rb needs to run a wheel route. UF is going to be looking to pick off that bubble screen.

Oh I believe JL is now your new QB with JJ coming in to spell him in much the same way that RP did with Flynn

this. He looked like a real QB. He showed way more leadership and confidence than JJ has ever shown. I really feel bad for him that they took him out after marching the team down the field on that winning drive.

The pass defense is outstanding. After that one quarter against UNC they are only giving up 106.5 yards per game. They gave up 412 that game and have since only given up 426. Also, Ridley is a getting lost in the shuffle of our offensive ineptitude. He has had a TD in the last 4 games and has averaged 119 yards per game with most of those yards coming in the second half of those games. As bad as our offense is, it should be pointed out that Ridley is a hell of a weapon late in a game and could very well win us a game down the stretch if we have a lead going into the 4th. Honestly, I am beginning to get annoyed with the press calling our whole offense terrible. We have won 5 games because of great defense, special teams, and the emergence of a pretty good running back.

I'd say he is more than a pretty good running back...he is 9th in the NCAA in rushing.

Prom...I could not be more excited...for Lee anyway. If they let him play Ridley will run for 200 a game just because the defenses will actually have to respect...and pay attention as compared to the rest of the SEC...these guys. Just the respect that they might get a catch-able ball.

That 4th and 1 stand by the defense at the LSU 31 was nothing short of epic. I'm coming to expect stuff like this from this defense.

I agree. At first I had my doubts when JL entered the game. But after watching his performance, I am convinced that JL should be our starting quarterback.
JJ reminds me a lot of JaMarcus Russell back in the day in the sense that he has the talent, but he makes entirely too many bad decisions. Look at the missed snap last week: he wasn't even ready to take it. Each weekend it seems as though JJ has not matured since his first snap. On the other hand, JL has shown that he has improved during his time on the bench and I believe he is ready to take the reigns.

Did you come away with anything positive from the Tennesee game?
Not really. Same old slop on offense. An undermanned rebuilding Tennessee with a first year coach came into our house and beat us (before they decided to give it to us on a platter).
The team was unprepared, as usual. Too many bush league mistakes and penalties, as usual. We let an inferior team hang around, again. It's like Groundhog Day.

You will win way more often than not when you DOUBLE the yardage gained by the other team (434-217).
Great read and run by JJ to start the game (I like JJ running the read option which is very different from running the the line" option.
JL made a couple of super clutc throws on the last drive.

I saw this as well. Especially Tolliver. Does this mean that Lee throws a more catchable ball? Or does it mean the receiving corps is trying harder?

Actually, I see a more-weathered (or mature) quarterback in J Lee than I see in JJ. I think JJ gets stage-fright. I am seeing in J Lee some of the things that emerged from Matt Flynn after sitting on the bench for all the time Matt was at LSU. Matt played behind some highly-touted quarterbacks and emerged as a capable leader. Many times humility produces better leadership--or perhaps JL has a better skillset match for the job.

also, everytime JL was in, the O-line opened huge holes for Ridley!!! I think everyone on O plays harder and better when JL is in

Really like the playcalling and balance with Lee back there. JJ had been attempting about 20 passes a game, Lee threw it 23 times in half of a game. Given about the same amount of reps, we called 13 more pass plays with Lee in there than JJ.
We have some advantages in the passing game with the receivers and tight end that we have to be able to take advantage of, bottom line. Looking ahead, Auburn has been stout against the run this year but struggles with pass defense, we haave to be able to at least attempt to exploit that.

I hope this gives the offense that "identity" everyone keeps saying is missing. I'd like to see 70% Lee and 30% JJ just to give the defense something else to think about.

Bubble screen, and leadership. Yeah, he did have that delay of game on 4th and 9 during our last drive...But, he looked up at the playclock, and immediately threw his head back and rolled his eyes as if to say, "shite, I can't believe I didn't check the clock!" JJ would have turned on the lemon face when hearing the dead ball whistle, and turned to Miles with the hands in the air. At least JL is smart enough to know what the hell is going on. THERE IS NO WAY JJ could have led our team on that game winning drive like JL did.

The bubble screen, quick passes to get our guys in space really stood out to me.
Also the reliance on the running game. In other games we have gotten cute and went away from the run. I thought we did much better leaning on it.
Loved the way we used play action and went over the top.
Couple things that I think we need to work on are the receiver reading coverages. On the throw to shep from lee in the ez where shep was double covered was an example of this. Ut roles up to man with one safety over the top and lbs blazing, dp reads it and runs a slant out of the slot on the left, the correct move. Shep doesn't read it and runs the right route, jlee doesn't hear dp and doesn't look off shep.
That's something that needs to be worked on. If I can read it from the stands then so should the wrs/qbs.
I hate running ridley out the shotgun, pistol is fine but out of the traditional shotgun its dumb, atleast trying to run the sweep and other east west plays are. Run the lighter backs in this formation. Maybe every once in a while run the dive with ridley in but that's it.
Tbob struggles with his zone steps on the inside and outside zone plays, needs to work on moving his feet. He did look much better in pass blocking this week though. Thought overall he played well.
Receivers played much much much better.
Jl needs to play, use rs to switch if u need a change up.

We saw this in the 2000 peach bowl. josh booty wasn't playing poorly but for some reason the recievers were dropping balls. In come Rohan and all the sudden we score 28 unanswered. I'm a results oriented guy. Bottomline our offense clicked better with JL.
