Has Les completely lost the LSU fan base and can he recover?

Wow, I have never seen the LSU fan base so negative in my life. What can Les do to get back the faith of the LSU fans? I am not saying it is right or wrong just asking the question.
He is 5-0 and it is this bad just think if LSU would have lost to WVU or UT or both!

Yes he has lost them, and yes he cah get them back by winning 10 games. But, he will always be a dumb coach in every fans eyes.

You're confusing a lot of these social-outcasts on Tiger Rant with the entire LSU fanbase.
Now granted, how this season plays out will be key to Miles's future at LSU.

there are enough brainles positigers to get back many, and a special season will get some of the rest back, but short of special results, everyone with a brain now realizes what a portion knew all along - Miles is a slow and poor thinker.

See my post.
The only thing I can do now is sit back and watch and see what happens.
Les is like a box of chocolates.......

Win 10 games is the short answer. Beating Florida this weekend would go a long way. We have VERY short memories.
Miles is definitely a mystery. I cussed him all Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday until I watched his press conference. He has some sort of Jedi mind trick, because I can't help but like the guy.
I mean - his explanations make no sense and I don't always know where he's going - but there's something about him that makes me want to be his neighbor. He just seems like a good guy - the way he got emotional when talking about Montgomery (yelling about the chop block as if the reporters in the room chopped him). Maybe if we could get a game clock coordinator....

Al Davis said it all: "Just win, baby."

The problem is the fans think he is an idiot, unfortunately, when he talks to the media he sounds like one. And a stubborn one at that. It is virtually impossible to change this perception at this point. The only thing he can do is win and win and get someone to manage the quarterbacks and game from the sideline and he becomes a figurehead only. Lets face it, after last years Ole Miss game, combined with this one, he cant recover. I can only hope he realizes his weaknesses and gets some help. He is probably good at many things, but his game management is absolutely unbelievably
terrible. He needs help fast.

He will soon enough. If he starts Jefferson against Florida and we lose his fate will be sealed. He also needs to fire a certain dumbass. I think this might help some.

8 wins, I think he's gone for sure (that would mean we lose virtually all of our remaining games)
10 wins: Damn good record in the SEC -he'll be back
9 wins is interesting: He probably gets a reprieve BY firing Crowton. If he makes a good hire: who knows - he may be here for another 6 or 7 years.

Meh. I think you're right, but it depends how it plays out.
If he loses to Florida and Bama and goes 10-2 and wins a bowl game ...
I think the heat should still be rightfully turned up ...
We are NOT paying him 4 mill and building all these football facilities to take for granted we will constantly play second-fiddle to Florida and Alabama.
Just have to see how the season plays out ...

I agree - I think the 'get a new O coordinator' scenario comes into play at 10 wins. Fans will forgive and forget a lot when there's new hope.

yes, when you have even Jordy ripping you, you have gone to far in the wrong direction

Put a fork in him he is done. Will be gone in 1 to 2 years.

I am not asking what it will take to get him fired, I want to know what it will take for him to be trusted and accepted by the LSU fans because I just do not see this ever happening. Again, I am not saying it is wrong or right but perception is reality and right now he is at a point in popularity that has to be an all time low.
I just do not know how this perception can be changed minus BCS bowl and even then I am not sure the first time something happens next year.

Milesism lost me back in 2008. He doesn't win me back with 10-2. frick that. Saban's gone 12-0 the last 2 years and is 5-0 again this year by beating teams handily. Miles has no excuse.
All y'all that think 10-2 is the best thing every years since sliced bread are saying you're happy not going to the SEC championship. This record virtually assures that we'll be watching Bama in it every year, because one of those 2 losses will be to them.

I agree. It's as if LSU fans' expectations are no longer "being a top 5" every year, or a contender for the SEC / NC.
Les Miles really needs to leave LSU. I'm surprised some people still can't see this. Louisiana has a lot of talent and LSU just seems to have a history of hiring bad coaches.

i think he's concerned as hell about that. playing JL last week convinced me. now he's been embarassed nationwide by a monumentul screw-up that i think was caused by our OC. no matter whose fault that was, i think Les is a fighter and will fight. if he can get the offense to buy into a committment to disciplined play, the way to get back the faith of most fans is to win ball games. if we win and play well in the win (like a well coached team is supposed to do), mistakes can be forgiven. the problem is, when the team is not playing well, mistakes give the fan base a reason for hate. ALL COACHES MAKE MISTAKES. Dooley made one worse than we did and it cost him that game. Saban makes mistake, Meyer makes mistakes, they all do. our coach just has a way of making goofy and very visible mistakes. lastly, i'm sure many of you think i'm making excuses for miles. go ahead, but i'm not.
