They just conducted a deep soil sample for first time. Results are mounds are decompacting on the inside, you won't see the objective harm on the outside till it is too late...

So explain to us how a deep soil sample is taken.

Explain to us how it determined all ill effects are caused by kids on slides.

Mounds are where a tribal leader was buried. Lsu's are unique bc there are two.

Link to proof?? Any remote amount of proof and non theory is also ok.

The same people fighting for the survival of dirt are likely the same people that would love to take a shite on the Vietnam memorial. Many of them certainly treated the soldiers that way.

Oh my god our stupidity has reached a new level now.

LSU asked people to stop parking on the trees and it was like a declaration of war.

Now LSU asks people to stop sliding on the indian mounds, again a declaration of war.

If LSU asks you to do it. Do it. Its not your right as a football fan to do whatever the frick you want. It's LSU's land.

What possible proof could there be? These were built ~6,000 years ago. Let me find some ancestors that still remember the folk stories their long lost descendants claimed...Jesus. You are asking for the impossible. That is why we have empirical, systematic science to be able to try to 'theorize' about the past through research and observation. What this research and observation has lead to is a general agreement (remember in the scientific method process there is no fact only supported or dis-proven theories) that these are symbolic sites of significance (most of which being in other civilizations: burial grounds).

Still, as another poster stated. Does it matter what they are? They have been around 6k years shouldn't we try to preserve our history? Preservation is not just related to American symbols.

About the report for the soil sample, I am searching for one. I am not a geologist so do not know where their academic journals are found on line. I may try calling the LSU department for help. But why shouldn't we take their word for it? They are trained in the scientific knowledge regarding these cases. I mean during the oil spill fiasco all I remember reading is 'why is the government intervening? The engineers for BP are the ones who do this for a living and they are the most capable'. Why is it here when it is geologists from LSU reporting something all of a sudden it is not taken for face value and it is questioned with anecdotal evidence that "I have seen people slide down the hill for generations and nothing has happened"? Do you really think these guys are just out there stating random shite to try to ruin people's Saturdays? Do you not think there is a peer-review process? Do you not think there is internal competition and the whole scientific process is about disputing others claims so someone would stand up if this was not the general consensus?
