Personally, I don't want him at LSU.
I'd rather have Jacoby Brissett or Cardale Jones. Can't figure out which of these 2 I would prefer though.
I just don't like the idea of taking a guy that Georgia booted. Seems like most here would disagree, but I like the skill set that Brissett and Jones offer over Mettenberger also.

I like your thought process...true freshman always put up huge numbers in the SEC. Why would we want some guy that was going to be starting at UGA, and could come in to make an impact right away. Especially when there's no issue at QB right now.

<--- this guy does. I wouldn't mind having one of those guys plus mett but at this point in time, I want an older, more matured qb with some semblance of experience that can come in and fill a need right away.

That's what I meant. I'd dig either one as recruits, but they don't have the chance to make an impact nearly as soon as Mettenberger does. Of course we'll probably turn a big, strong arm QB like Mettenberger into an option QB...

Problem is that Brisset and Jones won't be ready to play in the SEC next year. We need a QB for NEXT YEAR!!! Brisset or Jones would more than likely red-shirt and probably see limited action their RS Freshman year and compete against ZM their RS Sophomore year.

I think if we sign 2 qbs this class and lee doesn't see any pt, he transfers. I'm fairly positive mett could beat out jj, as he was already in line to be a starter at another SEC school.
Lee may not transfer, but if he wants to salvage a football career he needs playing time somewhere. If he doesn't get it here, he should go somewhere he can.

There is at least a chance he could. Brisset and Jones, while I hope we get one, sure as hell aren't.

He doesn't really have time left. Next year is his last year and if he transfers.. well.. unless he wants to walk-on he has to sit out a year.
Fwiw we need Mettenberg BAD. If he can beat out Jefferson/Lee more power to him.. but we really need him for 2012.

Honestly, at first I didn't think Mett would be needed to push our incumbent QB's next season when this season started, but now.......
He's as close to a must have as there is out there.

He's better than what we've got.I'd like to see what Lee could do(I think we'd all be pleasantly suprised to be honest)but Mettenberger is better than both of our guys.We need help at QB immediately and Jones/Brissett are not ready.I would take either of them for the future but not for next year.

Unless he's on track to graduate next April. He could go the Masoli route and head off to grad school somewhere and not sit out.
