like i have stated on here before my favorite is bourques in port barre.
it has become a family tradition to have a few links for breakfast whenever we go to grandma's house. we also MUST pick up jalapeno cheese bread for me to snack on for a couple of days.
if anyone stops at bourques, they cant go wrong with anything they get.

rays in opelousas. not the one associated with billy's. the real ray's is located on hwy 182.
billy's in krotz springs has good boudin balls but man the workers are just disgusting. its like they find the most greasiest and nastiest bull dike with aids sores all over to serve peoples food.

+1 for the orginal Rays in Op. you can get either Ray's or Billies Boudin and it has a drive through. I suggest a frozen pack for the house and some fresh smoked boudin for the road!

the rays located on hwy 182 is better. the guy that started rays boudin reopened this one about 15 years after he sold to billy. the store is nice and clean and not located in the hood. the quality of the rays boudin is much better. Ive at that boudin since I was a kid so its my favorite.

Diat i didnt know there was another one. I grew up in Texas and my family is from melville so we always took Rays home with us back to texas.

with out a doubt Bergerons off hyw.415. the boudin and sausage is excellent. the marinated rib eyes are as good as you can find.

I like Bergerons for alot of things.
But IMO their Boudin is not in my top 15

Bergeron's in Port Allen is my fav!

Bergeron's doesnt even sniff my radar.. I dont care for it at all.. Other meats are good though.
Kinda an odd question though.. What path are you driving from Shreveport to BR??
Is Lafayette included? Or do you turn east in Opelousas?
I see people including Best Stop but that would be a really odd route to take from Shreveport to BR.

Dons in Carencro right off I-49. Close to the interstate and best there is in my opinion

Wait.. We are way off topic.. Is this a where is the BEST boudin thread or where is the best boudin on the way to BR from Shreveport thread??
NuNu's isnt anywhere near that path.

The reading comprehension level on TD.com is truly on a 200 SAT verbal scale.

I do the Shrevepatch to BR route for games too. My favorite stops on the I-49/Hwy 190/I-10 route are:
Billy's/Ray's in Opelousas, it's really close to I-49. I've only tried Billy's recipe boudin but I need to try Ray's after reading these posts.
Billy's satellite in Krotz Springs for Boudin Balls and cracklins. I agree, the place and it's inhabitants are a little rough around the edges.
Bourqe's in Port Barre about a mile north of Hwy 190. I like their boudin, cracklings and their Jalapeno Sausage Cheese bread.
I haven't tried Bergeron's in Port Allen but I think I'll give them a try the next time I come down for a game.

Where is Billy's in Krotz Springs? I alway stop at Kirshner's grocery at the foot of the bridge on the right if you're head toward Baton Rouge.
I love to load up at Bourque's.

That would be my pick if I went the I49-190 route.
If I went the I49 to I10 route I would stop at Dons in Carencro

Billy's is the first gas station on your right if heading towards Opelousas coming off the Atchafalaya Bridge.
