The potential loss of JL after 2010..

We've heard from multiple sources that JL had done a lot of things in the off-season toward becoming a better QB. Hell, he even shed 15 lbs to gain more mobility.
JJ, OTOH, has appeared to have regressed since last season. I can only assume that Miles thinks that JJ gives him a smaller chance at making negative plays vs JL, but he trades that aspect for an offense that is totally 1-dimensional.
I'm a risk taker. If the defense is as good as it has shown, it can overcome any risk that is created by playing Lee right now. If Lee comes in an underperforms, he has the option to go back to JJ. Will getting benched shake JJ's confidence? Hell, it should force him to get his arse in line. Because, for 16+ games, he has known that the job is his regardless of how bad he plays. Competition does help develop players, but only if said compeition REALLY means anything.
If he decides JJ is the route he chooses all season without any offensive improvement (i.e. passing and continuity), we will lose to a very beatable Florida, Alabama, and probably Arkansas because we won't have the horses to keep up with them on O.
If JL wants to play QB ever again, he would then have to transfer after the fall semester. A full season of starting JJ will not help his cause in 2011, should he choose to stay in a Miles run program; especially if we somehow land Mettenberger.

Agreed. I think he is a class act.

You need to stop smoking crack!
And, of course, you base all of your garbage on the spring game, even though it doesn’t come close to the speed, pressure, and intensity of a real SEC game, because I know you don’t base it off of the last game JL started at La Tech and for damn sure not off of his NCAA record breaking 2008 season.
I hate to rain your clueless parade, but JJ was never in danger of losing his starting job to JL, and the only way JL will start is if JJ gets hurt.

Vandy is akin to playing La Tech. Should I post JJ's stats from 2 weeks ago?
..and those from Saturday night?
We cannot win throwing for sub 100 yards per game vs Florida, Alabama and Arkansas.

Unfortunately I think you are right and I believe that because I believe that our mediocre coaching staff has an unbeleiveable propensity for accepting mediocrity.

...which is why I said competition helps develop players ONLY if said competition REALLY means anything.
Why strive to improve if you're already on top? He looks like he prepped his post-TD poses, though.

In response to the live game intensity do you think jj could have gotten the job done in 08 at Auburn? Give me a break! Lee deserves a chance and I think what scares Jefferson and all his supporters is that the kid just might show some promise. I'm not against Jefferson but what gets you to the conclusion that he is so much better than lee? And please don't say because that's who miles says will start.
And one other point: people need to stop saying well lee did bad in 08 or against la tech....etc. This is 2010 and Jefferson has what maybe 400 yards passing 2tds and 2 picks so far through a not so tough schedule. And he sure as hell isn't playing with last years or 08's running game, defense,or o-line.
With all that being said I do not care who our qb is or what color. He can be purple for all I care. I just want our best opportunity to win and grow as a team.

Brother you are preaching to the choir
I don't blame JJ I honestly think that he is doing the best that he possibly can.....unfortunately that seems to be enough for our coaching staff and 70% of our fan base

This is true, and Miles will never play JL simply to avoid any controversy. JL would be much better off transferring. JL will only get meaningful playing time when JJ gets hurt, no matter how crappy the offense has become.

Last Year:
Against Florida he had a pretty bad game, but the rushing game sucked horribly all around.
Against Bama he was having a good game until he was injured. He was actually a key reason we were actually winning at one point.
Against Arky he had a good dame and we won.
GTFO
The team is much better than last year and we are not going to throw for less than 100 yards every game. Plus we have kicked the shite out of our last opponents with under 100 yards passing. There really isn't a reason to bitch about it at this point.

If he has been here this long, he will stay.

Only because of the defense. Offense appears to be the same with a slightly better rushing game...so far. LSU really hasn't played a quality opponent.
Passing game has to pick up or future opponents will simply stack the box.

The way JJ runs he will get hurt when we play the big boys. He even has a hard time dropping back in the pocket to pass. My biggest fear is that they will finally let LEE play when we and their deff know we have to pass to win
