Would Shep at QB be anything like Denard Robinson?

I dont think this belongs in the QB thread because it is about Shep and I think that discussion is more about JJ and JL. Do you guys think that if we had kept Shep at QB he would be anything like Denard Robinson? If we had a guy like Denard Robinson at QB we would be #1 in the country without a doubt. Do you think Shep would have been able to get to that level?
ETA: Sorry about the original Subject not being descriptive enough.

The million dollar question.
However, the way we call our offense, I doubt DR would have the same stats he currently has for UM.

People will argue with me, until they are blue in the face, that shep isn't a D-1 QB and that he can't throw, etc. but they are fricking retarded. We should definitely have shep at QB some. I still want him to move back to the position and take over next year.

Only if we had Rich Rod as our coach.
He's the only guy in the country that has found a way to take good athletes with little to no arm and height disadvantages to formulate a dominant offense.

Not with Crowton as the coordinator.
(while I'm not a Crowton fan, this isn't a bash on him... we just don't run an offense that enables a dual threat qb to that level. Short side option is not Rich Rod's option offense.)

Our offense would be a hell of a lot more fun to watch, that's for sure

I personally don't want to see RS as an every down QB. I don't think he has the passing ability or enough durability to play it full time. However, I would love to see him get around a dozen snaps a game where he either runs the option/wild tiger and possibly has a few passes out of that formation.

If we TRULY used him like Percy Harvin was used I would be ok with it....but since we dont and our current QBs are anemic I agree with you. We really should have him in at QB. I would be fine with growing pains this year if he was like Denard the next 2 years...because if he was, with our defense and other offensive firepower, we would most likely get 2 BCS titles.

We would have a shitton of 30 yard rush plays, and a bizillion fumbles

tom luginbill said that what most people don't know is just how good of a passing q.b. dr is. the only thing that was his downfall was his height. so, to answer your question, i don't think that shep can be the "PASSER" that dr is.

Maybe with Rich Rod coaching him, but not with Crowton/Miles coaching him.

Shep would be great in a RR offense....

I think Shep is almost the exact same, just in a differrent system.

DR has a much bigger body than RS. I personally don't think RS could handle the physical abuse of being a full time running QB.
