This is no small reduction in offensive fire power. He seemed to have relative success against LSU and was a special back.

This is why MSU won't score a TD on offense.

Don't get too cocky fellas. I agree they are missing a special back, but they will give us a fight for sure.

Dixon was a huge factor for STATES offense last season. I do think Relf could be a threat in the 1st half...but with them playing a two QB system they will be stopped.

And I think that Mullen can be questionable with his playcalling.

Why is that? They didn't use him 4th and Goal with the game on the line last year. Plus, they looked pretty good running the football last week vs. Auburn.

I don't consider 117 yards on 33 carries against Auburn's D very good. We should hold them to < 100 on the ground.

+1... we will show how bad their offense really is

Dude are you this dumb? The QB made a bad decision when he saw a bit of daylight. He pitches to Dixon and we lose.

3.5 YPC against a mediocre defense isn't ery good. And Auburn aspires to have a mediocre defense. And Dixon was an incredible talent. He rushed for 100 yards in 8 games last season, including LSU.

As a team, they rushed for 224.6 yards/game with Dixon. This year? 157 yards/game. That's how much they miss Dixon.

Until State finds a back to count on we won't really know how good the running game is.

We're definitely missing Dixon. None of our backs have that SEC "it" factor that backs in this league are supposed to have. Elliot and Ballard are just meh. However we do have redshirt freshman Ladarius Perkins, who is not an every down back. He might not get any carries like he did in the Auburn game. But if he gets a few or catches a couple passes out of the slot, he could break it at any time. Just throwin that out there. If he comes in, watch out, he's probably gonna touch it.

Anthony Dixon leaving and Peterson covering Bumphis for the entire night = total ineffectiveness.

I think Elliot should be sat down permanently, he's done.

I'd probably burn the redshirt off of Griffin at this point, just to see what's there. freshmen can contribute at RB with ease.

While this will limit their offense, I fear that Relf's running ability might give us some trouble. That's assuming Relf gets most of the snaps.

Sounds like Mullen is employing the Crowton/Holliday method of giving the football to a speedster.

That's the beauty of having Ryan Baker back

it wouldn't surprise me if Relf is bigger than Baker. OM fans called him Godzilla after last season's game.
