Anyone keeping stats on LSU's option play...

the coaches keep using it, but I don't recall it working any better than just having JJ running at some point after receiving the snap. He seldom pitches it and when when does he advertises that fact to the world.
What are the stats?
i.e. avg yards gained.

crowton probably goes in the coach's office early Sunday morning and scratches it out, or accidently spills coffee on the stats so Les can't see how terrible it is.

Every time I see jj run the option, I wonder why.

I just dont get why if you are going to run read options you dont just put the ball in #10's hands?

Keiland scored on it in 2007 vs VT and was punished for the rest of his career because that was not the Miles way of doing things. You don't hurdle tacklers for 70 yard TDs, you put your shoulder down and gain 2 like Bo taught him.

That took an amazing effort by Keiland too. G

BS, it was run twice. Zone reads/QB runs may have totaled 13, but the actual option with a pitch man was only 2 times.

this + 100000000000000000000
jj is not an option qb, why do we keep running the read option?????

uhh ok.. The Read/Zone Option is NOT the option..
Ok gotcha....
I guess the triple option is not an option either.
FACT the "Zone Read" is part of the Spread Option Offense package.

Somebody posted the stats after the game...
Going back to the Arkansas game of 2008 we have run the option 47 times.
4 out of 47 times the play has resulted in a gain of greater than 10 yards.
23 out of 47 times it has resulted in negative yards.
6 out of 47 times it has resulted in a turnover.

I might use this to call in the Les Miles show Wed and ask him about this? Anyone have a link for where they got this?

unless they've specifically tracked this, not sure how one would find this info since the drive charts only show who ran and yards gained/lost.

So what this suggests is we are due. Same logic that keeps people playing slots.
