Would UF and Meyer have beaten UNC yesterday

Maybe. But UNC without 1/3 of their starters >> Miami Ohio.
That isn't an excuse for the meltdown yesterday and there is a lot to do. But I think people overreact in general to near losses. LSU's biggest mistake was not putting the final stake in UNC (they had 4 chances at least) and letting their offense (which wasn't depleted) on the field most of the 4th.

Pouncey looks like he is playing backwards bowling when snapping the ball.

the point is matt, everyone on the planet expects UF to fix their offensive problems and believes yesterday was a fluke...as do i
can you honestly say the same about LSU?

I would rather find out than complain about it I guess. I don't know how good or bad UNC's 2nd defense is. We weren't trying much in the 2nd half (which was dumb) and when we did we fumbled and had penalties (both fixable in theory).
I think JJ is bad (and Lee is worse) and we are stuck. I am not a fan of Crowton. But I will wait and see.

urban meyer doesn't have tim tebow anymore. I think urban has won 4 more games in his 5 years than miles has...yet they are going to fix it and lsu is not. AGAIN..ridley holds onto the ball it's all over. I tell you what also, LSU was without 5 players theirselves, and some of the ones NC had playing were very good players. In addition, I've never watched yates...and he got hit a lot, but he was very accurrate last night...the one major concern i have is cb and claiborne. the other things are just a lot of knee jerk type guys wanting to bitch and place blame....

Uf would have lost to UNC imho.
College football is strange that way.

Right. Yesterday sucked pretty awful. But it seems irrational to scream the end is near after beating a ranked team (regardless of the circumstances) at a neutral site and basically winning by as many as the line predicted.
We had a lot of issues, but we showed some amazing speed and flashes of brilliance on defense. One reason teams don't play UNC in the opener is so they won't lose because of first game errors.

that's been a pattern for miles for a long time...

no
UF may have looked the worst of any SEC team yesterday

How any other top tier program might have performed in our place is not material to the issue. There are objective standards that one expects at LSU's level that aren't being met. If the performance last night had been one that we hadn't seen before it would be easier to dismiss. Unfortunately the symptoms are holdovers from prior seasons.
The questions are:
- does Les get the most from the talent
- are the players confident, focused and disciplined
- does the staff make good adjustments
- among others

Matt-the second half was a train wreck.
There is only so much lipstick you can put on the pig.
This team NEEDED a COMPLETE victory more than at any time in recent history.
Les handed his detractors another foot of rope.
It's too bad they couldn't sustain. It really is.
I remain hopeful.
But I must acknowledge the way this looks...

no, oklaoma wouldn't have either. the offensive line looks like it's an upgrade from last year. a few times ridley burst through nc's defensive line for big games. the bad thing is, he fumbled on key plays (in the redzone) and a td was taken back because of a hold. can the fumbles be fixed? i sure hope some beucsae in the 2nd qtr this team looked pretty damn good. granted it was against a "watered down" unc team, but that unc team is way better than teams like eastern illinios, utah state, miami of ohio, ect.

The real question to me is with all of UNC starters in how bad does LSU lose.
