UNC football troubles are bad for everyone

Even the most rabid LSU Tiger football fan is unhappy with the problems North Carolina and its football team are having. Around the UNC campus you hear all around, " WE had a good chance to beat LSU," or even more aggressively, "We were going to beat LSU," followed by "but now we've lost half our football team." On the LSU campus you hear the plaint, "If we win everyone will say it was because UNC was missing some starters, and if we lose we will really look bad." They are referring to the rumor that several UNC starters will be suspended because of violations.
Actually, injuries, suspensions, transfers and bad officiating are challenges all teams face. LSU has three injured players who will miss the game, several transferred, and one projected starter has been suspended. No one, not even the UNC people in position to know, has all the details of the facts around the situation, certainly not who or how many might be suspended for the game.
North Carolina began an investigation when it learned that some players had associated with agents. As the result of the investigation, it was discovered that a tutor, no longer with the school, had possibly written papers for some players. This transcends sports; it goes to the heart of academics and reflects on the integrity of the school. The NCAA considers academic fraud the worst infraction a program can have.
While UNC can be counted on to do the right thing, what punishment, if any, by the NCAA may not be known until a day or so before the game.
Every university should take this as a wake-up call and monitor more closely its tutorial programs. Some schools want to win so badly they will seek out and hire a coach whose violations got another school on probation. They are an exception as most schools want to have a clean program, but the pressure to win is there for all univerities. All should be watchful that something similar does not happen to them.

Whatever, I'm sure only UNC does this. I have no doubt that JaMarcus Russell was the author of many thought provoking essays...

Lets not get ahead of ourselves pal. Nobody knows the extent of the investigation, so we really can't make sound judgments on how the game will turn out. If you think that LSU was going to "stomp a mud hole in there asses" before all of this came out, then you are very mistaken.

IF UNC football troubles give us a better chance to win, that's fine with me. I just want us to win as many games as possible--if that means our opponents hurt themselves, that's cool too.

not our problem.
beat the shite out of em and move along with the schedule.

if we crush a "watered down" version of UNC in the opening game, no ones gonna give a shite because we play in the SEC and the SEC is be the measuring stick of this team.

A win is a fricking win...PS, UNC dude, that player you have as your avitar is one ugly mofo...

When you start ranked well outside of the top 10, you want every win to be a quality win and impressive win. That was the way the game was set up. Now, with the loss of several UNC stars, we are almost certain to be deprived of that.
That is not good news for LSU.
Folks who don't understand that are living in a fantasy world.
We may be playing the equivalent, real or perceived, of Nicholls

What? No. Come on dude. It is still UNC, they have all but one of their players on offense still playing in the game. This isnt damn Nicholls, STFU, that was just ignorant.

In the end, whether LSU win's or loses the first game, it's going to be how they play the SEC schools. If they beat enough of them to go to the SEC championship game, they write their own destiny. The very first game of the season against what is considered a quality program isn't going to affect the tail end as much as losing to an SEC school. Look at Va tech after the skull drugging we put on them the first game of 07 championship run. They finished up in the top 5 and won their conference.

1. Most of the people that come up with the polls see rankings and thats it. Especially the coaches...most of them admittedly dont even watch the games.
