UNC's defense may be getting a lot of preseason press. However, it occurs to me that their NFL draft choices might look real good right now because they play in the ACC, but if they were at SEC schools, they would be competing for spots on defense. LSU has more speed and strength in the second team backfield and offensive line than every ACC school. It's easy to blow up weak ACC fronts and impress scouts. UNC will run into a wall against LSU.

Please, oh please, stop this shite! It's not as though the SEC is 5A Texas football and the ACC is 1A Maine football. There are great athletes all over college football. Yes, the SEC is the best conference, but the disparity amongst the BCS conferences is not as great as some of y'all make it out to be.

Dude you can't be serious. I'll agree with you that LSU's offense may have more speed than MOST ACC teams, but I think the offenses of VT, FSU, and Miami are just as fast, and better for that matter.I suggest you just go take a look at what this "overrated" UNC defense did against VT and Miami (our defense let us down against FSU).

You'd think NFL scouts would be onto this trick

Dude. These players are talented. Its not smoke and mirrors and NFL scouts know how to evaluate beyond being fooled by good performances against bad players.

LSU should NOT be scared. But, LSU should certainly expect to face a good defense.

I agree that the ACC is not quite up to the level of the SEC top to bottom. However they are one of the top 5 conferences in America and UNC should have the best D in that conference. They may be as good as Alabama was last year and that's saying a lot. But you are correct in that they're not going to see a faster team than LSU on their schedule this year. Should be a good game. I think the Tigers overall edge in team speed will win the day.

Until I see miles lose an opening game at LSU I will predict a victory. UNC will have to put up some points and based on their offense they will likely need a short field. That is something they will only see if they get fortunate turnovers.

I don't know if LSU can make a great argument for team speed when you see our performances in the combine from the past few seasons. Other conferences have speed too. Did you see Michigan against Florida in the Gator Bowl or Capital One Bowl (whichever it was)? How about USC vs Auburn 2003? USC vs Arkansas 2005 and 2006? USC beat Arkansas in Fayetteville 50-14. This is the same Arkansas team that won the SEC West. Or how about the same Arkansas team that torched our defense in 2007 that got blown out by Missouri in their bowl game? Bama vs. Utah?

The point I'm making is that there is such a thing as team speed outside the SEC.

So if Jacory would have taken care of the ball they would have put up more yards/points, and ultimately beat you. Jacory threw a lot of picks all year, so don't give the UNC D a handjob for getting him 4 times
