Improving, but rain helped a lot. Manziel seems to have smallish hands. Hard to throw the college football without Mett size hands when it's cold and wet

Where to watch game in Albuquerque

Is there an LSU bar in Albuquerque?
Haven't y'all realized that

ESPN analysts are given their opinions. It's scripted to the extent that it can be scripted. Holtz and May are usually at odds on things normal people can't disagree on. It's scripted for controversy and to expand ratings. ESPN has a lot of influence, but, much like all media, it has an agenda. That's why ESPN will eventually grow too big and another, competitive sports channel will come along. We will all eventually tire of their agenda.
Just about every game this year has been a "trap" game..

This is getting old. Oregon was gonna beat us with speed. West Virginia has a wide open offense that we can't defend. Tennessee and auburn were dangerous. Bama was in Tuscaloosa and they have saban's defense. Mississippi state has dan Mullen. Ole miss was a "scary team." now it's Arkansas! Isn't it time someone said LSU is flat out good, best team in the country. Sure we can lose; anyone on any Saturday (or Friday) can lose. But, enough already. We are the best team in the country. We have beaten the other best teams in the country. I'm tired of corso saying it will be closer than the experts say or hearing Herbstreit talk about how dangerous our opponent is. We have proven that we are the best.

Doesn't show bama's loss to LSU

It didn't feel a lot like last year to you? Jefferson has his moments but nothing is cohesive and smooth. I was very glad Jefferson stepped in against Bama; we would have lost without him. But Lee played 8 very good games. The offense rarely bogged down. We were able to sustain long drives with some nice mid-range passing, or at least the threat of it. I know we need both guys, I just hope Les hasn't changed horses. I think we have one of the best coaches in the country, I just don't know why he loves Jefferson so much. He fumbles a snap and takes a safety against a bad team. He can't sustain a drive unless Blue breaks a big run. Him running our offense is hard to watch. On the other hand, Lee marches us down the field with more steady regularity.

That LSU is better with Lee starting and Jefferson playing when Lee struggles. If YOU don't see this, then YOU can't be objective. I knew Jefferson would start tonight and I knew the team would look like they did in 2010 ( every game a struggle). I don't know why, but we are better all around with Lee. He's solid. We need Jefferson (like we did against Bama), but he's just not solid. The team sputters with him at quarterback, the defense and special teams have to do too much, and nothing is easy

Awesome 60 minute documentary. I hate Bama/Auburn but love a great rivalry
My explanation to Bama fan...
Posted by Nick Cest Bon on 10/26/11 at 9:50 pm
He was going on and on about the upcoming game saying bama was going to win. I said that they might. But, there is no doubt that LSU is the best team in the country and 9 times out of 10, LSU will win this game no matter where it's played. That's why they play the game though. Bama will have to be perfect and LSU will have to make a mistake or two or three. Win or lose, LSU has proven that it is the best team in the country in all phases of the game. And we are deeper in all phases of the game. I won't be that upset at losing this game because, like it or not, sometimes the better team loses. The only way I lose my mind is if some bullshite officiating takes the game out of our hands. LSU 27 Bama 10
Scoring against first team defense
Posted by Nick Cest Bon on 10/23/11 at 4:03 pm
Most of the points scored against LSU have come in garbage time in the 4th quarter. Excluding those scores, how many points have the first team defense given up?

Andif they smoked it while in Tennessee, I think synthetic marijuana is legal there. So now players are getting in trouble for doing something legal. Everything is so over regulated, it is exhausting
I've always loved ESPN but ...

It is close to jumping the shark. It has no competition so it does whatever it wants and we will still watch it. But gameday and sportscenter are slowly becoming farces. ESPN is becoming so powerful that it is like the NCAA, suspending journalists and firing musicians. Since when does football coverage include detailed discussion of uniforms, using the phrase "fashion po-po". CBS needs to own coverage of the SEC and start something like gameday

I feel bad for Jefferson, but it was his own behavior that lost him his starting position. He was out at a bar late at night. Whether he kicked anyone or not, his actions caused him to lose his spot. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Lee has done everything right, including staying at LSU behind a quarterback that he is better than. He stuck it out and it is paying dividends for Lee and LSU. If Miles cuts into Lee's playing time to reward Jefferson's irresponsibility, it will be a HUGE mistake.
Phonetically how do you say "tyrann"
Posted by Nick Cest Bon on 9/27/11 at 11:44 pm
I've been calling him ta-ran. I've also heard tie-run and tie-ran and tee-run. So how does he say it?

John Chavis appreciation thread
Posted by Nick Cest Bon on 9/22/11 at 10:28 pm
A few years ago I realized that Les Miles had stumbled upon genius; why play 11 guys on offense the entire game when I can rotate 15-16 guys and beat down the opposing defense. Chavis has adopted the same philosophy on defense. 4 defensive lineman tire by 3rd quarter but 8 do not. 4 defensive backs wear out throughout a game, but 8 don't. I really think this is the genius of miles, now smartly adopted by Chavis. It is a "whole team" approach to winning that allows everyone to participate and keeps fresh legs for the second half. LSU has team speed, no doubt; but they also have more players really contributing all game long.
