Is there any way we can get worse this year? JJ will be better and the O-line will be better, which were our 2 main problems last year. DL will have plenty of talent, WRs are great, including RS. I think our running backs will be special too. Just don't see us finishing any worse than we did a year ago, and also we'll beat a worsened Bama team.

I was realistic last year, will be this year. Predicted 3 losses last year and predicting 4 this year with a better upside than down. (not counting bowl games)

LSU could get worse, they have a lot of young players stepping up this year, injuries could happen, bad bounces could happen. It is football and it is unpredictable, LSU has the talent to challenge Alabama/Florida, there is also no promise that Alabama will be worse. Hell look through last years prediction threads, every one said the same things about Alabama because of who they lose on offense.

If we play exactly the way we played last year, we won't finish 9-3 and 2nd in the West IMO. The SEC is better than last year.

To put it another way, if we go 9-3, we likely have solved many of the problems we had last year.

A better team could still lose as many games as last year because of the schedule.

Even as tough as the schedule is, we only lose 2 regular season games. We will be that good. Book it. And Paul Allen, GEAUX frick YOURSELF, you bama dick sucker.

I'll give you that, we are a very unpredictable team. Maybe I should've waited until after the 4th to post this, but I think the staff has learned from past mistakes and players are working hard to correct theirs. I just think we'll be in a better position to beat Bama next year, and when you beat the #1 team, there is no reason you can't contend for the championship too.

Yes - what did we see in the Spring game or have heard in preseason practice to give us any indication that JJ will be better. NOTHING. We keep hearing how our pick 6 QB is actually a better QB.
OL - what makes us think it will be better this year? Because they are supposedly in shape like they should be.
The only area we have with no questions is our defensive secondary. We have questions in every other area of our team.
Can we be better? Yes.
Bottom line is we are NO longer perceived as being an elite team. Nobody fears playing LSU any longer.
We need to change that this season.

I dont know if JJ will be better. But it looks like we are going to take more shots. Which can help. If they been practicing trying to get more plays in, then they will get more plays in. They still have to execute and the players we have certainly are capable of that.

If our offense is just a little better we will back back at 10 wins and give us some swagga going into 2011.

Because they were 100% terrible last year. I'm just trying to say that it is very hard to get worse than, what, 105th overall in sacks?

Any time you lose 13 starters, you can get worse.

statistically on offense i don't think we can get worse. we won a lot of games despite that last year and were only about a minute (penn state) and 1 second (ole miss) from being 11-2.

we could have also lost a lot of games just as easily i guess. there was no game last year that i felt like we were dominated in. florida played a conservative game and controlled the clock. we really didn't have a good shot there, but 13 - 3 was not so bad.

i think we will be better and play better, but i am unsure that it will be reflected in our record. much tougher schedule. probably the toughest i have seen for the tigers.

Every year you could make the claim that the following season will be better. LSU has been recruiting at a high level for awhile, those guys that left were 4* and 5* as well.
