Generally I always go RB RB, but I'm leaning toward mixing it up and taking a top QB or WR (If Andre Johnson is available). What are your takes on picking in this spot?

Rough spot to pick in from what I understand, but the problem with taking a qb is that your #2 pick is the 15th overall, so you might not even get a top 10 RB as your #1 RB.

ETA* Whereas, if you go RB with your 1st pick and QB with your 2nd pick, you'll get a top 6 RB and likely a top 3 QB. Not enough upside to taking the qb with the 1st pick imo.

Totally agree. I'd much rather take a top WR at 6, though. I think RB is a lot deeper than WR this season

at number 6 I would go with Andre Johnson, Gore, or Turner. One of them will be available still.

I would go RB/WR, an then BPA at RB and WR till the 5th or 6th rd to grab a QB. In the mocks I have been a part of, drafting at 5-7 was pretty easy cause you let the studs at positions fall to you. At 6 I was usually going either RB/WR/WR/RB or RB/WR/RB/WR in the first 4 rounds

I'd probably pick Steven Jackson or Andre Johnson. I'd also hope there was a homer in the first 5 picks that would pick brees, so I could get a more elite rb.

This

I really hope I get pick #6 in my next two drafts. I'd take Andre Johnson and not think twice about it. I picked 3rd in a previous draft and felt obligated to take Ray Rice.

You can get competent QBs are QBs about to breakout in later rounds. In a 10 team league, its hard NOT to get a good QB.

Load up on RBs and WRs. Start looking at guys like Cutler, Kolb, Manning, Flacco, Henne etc in the mid to late rounds. Worst comes to worst, you can trade one of your early round bench RBs or WRs for a better QB.

I would do this in a 12 team league, but it becomes even easier in a 10.

10 team 10 QB's

which couldn't you bear with?

quote:

1 Aaron Rodgers (1st)
2 Drew Brees (2nd)
3 Peyton Manning (2nd)
4 Tom Brady (4th)
5 Tony Romo (4th)
6 Matt Schaub (5th)
7 Philip Rivers (6th)
8 Jay Cutler (8th)
9 Matt Ryan (8th)
10 Kevin Kolb(9th)

I'd be cool with any save Cutler, but if I got Cutler I'd have to grab Berger as insurance

summary, I'd rather have Cutler/Ryan/Kolb with Frank Gore/AJ/Austin/Wayne/Greene/....than Brees and Julius Jones/Braylon Edwards

however, if any fall later than where I have them, then I have to pull the trigger, ie Peyton in the 3rd, Brady in the 5th, Schaub in the 6th

quote:

1 Aaron Rodgers (1st)
2 Drew Brees (2nd)
3 Peyton Manning (2nd)
4 Tom Brady (4th)
5 Tony Romo (4th)
6 Matt Schaub (5th)
7 Philip Rivers (6th)
8 Jay Cutler (8th)
9 Matt Ryan (8th)
10 Kevin Kolb(9th)

I am at 5 in my draft and trying to decide between Gore and Andre is proving difficult

exact same situation, but Mine PPR so going with AJ

PS: when it comes to this kinda stuff, I use another factor. "Anyone else on the team I might want later".....ie If I go Gore, can't get Crabtree or Davis...if I go Andre then I can't get Foster, so I'll sacrifice Foster leaving Crabtree open later...I can get Schaub either way(I like the QB/EliteWR combo)
