Looking to get a lease for next season around the laff to cameron area. Gueydan Klondike area would be ideal. A pall park price would be appreciated

I myself have been looking for a new lease out that way. Anybody know of any?

I would say a ballpark number would be 5 to 6K.

I can live with that if it is a few sections.

Not sure about down there but in NELA 6k will get you one blind in an average location. Our company blind is 12k a year for a pit blind in one of the better spots around.

on average its probably around 5k per blind....
I don't really ever hear on any being given up though, usually its through a friend of a friend deal

A few sections meaning 1280 acres. Sorry but it ain't gonna happen. You pay $5000.00 for a pit blind on 40 acres in Mer Rouge. Even then it has to be a sweet spot along the Bouef.
I know you want to hunt near Laffy but you will get more BANG for your buck in Morehouse Parish.
Just some friendly advice

Been hunting Klondike with my dad and his buddies for years. I know the section they have is quite a bit more than 5 or 6K/yr.

Correct... It is 5-6k per blind on an average of about 50 acres per blind.
And in the Gueydan Klondike Area you have to know someone to lease land around there.. We have a lease in Klondike just north of Doug's Hunting Lodge and we have had it for 12 years now and are still trying to get more land through multiple sources.. Just nothing has come up.

We're off of 717 between Dougs and Cherry Ridge. Grandfather had the the lease since around 1950. Dad passed away last Oct. My uncle and several others have it now. I'll be taking over my dad's spot this year. Slow for ducks last year. Good for specks though.

We hunt on S. Drake Road. off of 717.. We had a pretty decent year for ducks last year. We probably killed close to 100 mallards and almost limited out on pintail everytime we went out and of course a couple spoonies and teal here and there... You are right about the specks though... they are everywhere out there and it is every year all year... for some reason they love that area around 717.

We hunt right next to yall literally behind Dougs. But its my friends, im wanting to get one of my own for next season. Saw some listed 4 miles north of Gueydan for 6k a blind, im hoping to find something like that next season.

Wow, we're off of S. Drake as well. Near the end, to the right. You can see the camp and barn from S. Drake.

We are off 717, down on Reclamation Rd.

YEA are you talking about Henry's Camp?? We hunt just to the east of S. Drake road.. We go to the end and then to the left at the post about 200 yards south of the end of the road.. Our lease is due east of what they call the goose blind all the way to the northeast of his lease.
Small World!!

Yep, one and the same. Is your spot on land owned by a company called Dixie? Shot many a speck from that blind you are refering to. Henry and his brother Mike, plus a couple other guys form Crowley. Been hunting there with my Dad for over 30 years. Gonna be different this year with out him.

I hunt 220 acres Henry, just outside Abbeville, and the cost for the year is around 10K, defrayed between 5 paying members.

Yea sorry to hear that... It will definitely been different... my mom is from Estherwood and all my cousins are the Broussards from there so I know a lot of those Crowley boys that are there... And yes it is leased from Dixie.

When I come out I always see tons of geese east of S Drake road, more to the North of yall. Been that way for years, do you all get them on south end?
Hunted a little on Cherry Ridge last year. Best hunt of my year.
