I seem to recall that about this time last year ron brooks looked like he would be getting the starting nod at safety opposite of CJ. Then brandon taylor suddenly started lighting it up and moved ahead of RB on the depth chart. Who are some guys we feel could do the same this fall? My vote goes to Michael Brockers

That isn't true max

Taylor was rock solid most of the year, then he wore down towards the end...he isn't very big for a safety and he had no hesitations on run support, he body probably just wore down

he solidly gave up as many 15 yard catches as the other team's TE wanted to catch all year, ULL included

Taylor played very well for most of the year. I thought he was a pretty sure tackler and he didn't give up too many big plays over the top either. I was satisfied with his performance. The statement about him not making a positive play all year was about as ignorant and uninformed as is typical of the rant though.

Ok so he was a safety who played 20 yards deep and didn't give up "too many" big plays and make some tackles in run support as he was on the field every play. Nevermind! HEISMAN!!

I didn't say the guy's an all american. I just implied that he was a decent player for us last year after overtaking Brooks. You made him sound like a worthless piece of crap that doesn't belong on the field.

He's not the worst player in the world. But he's pretty much right with Pep Levingston, you'll hear their names during the starting lineups and thats about it. He gets way more praise than his play warrants.

I think he's a little better than pep. I remember being impressed by Taylor's performance in several of the games last year. He made some nice tackles on some run plays and short passes. Pep is just terrible and really doesn't bring much to the table. Average sized DE with little quickness. Another thing to keep in mind is that he was just a sophomore and it was his first year getting significant playing time. There have been some other guys such as Glenn Dorsey and Craig Steltz that didn't make that much impact on the defense until their junior seasons when they started tearing it up. Now, I don't expect Taylor to ever be as good as those guys were but I think in time he could be a decent to pretty good player for us.

taylor was our best safety in coverage. i thought chad jones was a liability in coverage sadly enough. would have liked to see him play more strong and taylor more free. i was impressed with him and i think he is one of the more underrated talents on our squad.

looked bad on that play at corner with julio, which hurt, but played good ball most of the year.

Well he way playing 30 yards off the line of scrimmage every time so his athleticism actually limited the receiving yards to 15 yards.
