2008 - 3-5 in the SEC
2009 - 5-3 in the SEC

At least it is not the other way around. Looks like progress to me.

1 second away from 6-2, 1 INT reversal away from 7-1, 1 decent offensive drive against Florida from being 8-0. (I know you can do the same thing the other way, but I am not a NegaTiger!)

2010 Prediction - 7-1 in the SEC...

If this team can build some confidence early in the season I think it will be a good year.

I see your point and I like your positive outlook which is rare to find here but the fact is we still went 8-8 in the SEC over the past 2 seasons. I am not a negatiger but this is not acceptable. A .500 record is way too mediocre for this squad and I hope we see a much improved SEC record this year.

The biggest surprise this year is gonna be our defense. Smaller but very fast and aggresive. If and I know its a big if, our running game matures quickly enough, the offense will be considerably better and allow the defense to rest and not wear out in the forth quarter. We will be the surprise of the sec. Look for ridley and ford to have a great year..Barring injury, ridley will play in the nfl. This guy could be great. Hes a beast...

Conversely 1 yard away from a loss to Miss State. And the UGA and Ark game could have been losses as well.

LSU was in a lot of close games last year. Ole Miss and Miss St should not have even had to come down to the end. I can undertstand Ark and UGA games being tight.

not smart to assume that LSU would've driven 60+ yards to go up on Alabama my friend. The offense did nothing in the 2nd half.

what a homer!

9 wins last year with a 7 win team.

Minus a monsoon, they're winning 10.

In a monsoon that was called the bowl game last year, ANYONE could have beaten ANYONE.

If LSU had gone 0-8 in 2008 and 8-0 in 2009 with an SEC championship...most of these idiots would still be screaming "Miles is 8-8 in the SEC the last two years!!!"

That was the flawed John Brady argument. He'd go 2-14, then 4-12, then 6-10 or something, and his apologists would point to the fact that there was improvement every year. But the three-year record was 12-36, and that's lousy. The fact that it improved from one year to the next is better than the other way around, I guess, but when the bar is set that low, mere improvement isn't enough. Even with a two-game improvement in our SEC record in 2009, we still lost the SEC West by three games and were eliminated from the race a month before the SECCG. That's why 8-8 is relevant, and "progress" isn't always enough.

Why did we have a 7 win team? Who's responsible for making sure we don't have a 7-win team? Whoever that is, fire him.

That offense was bad. Obviously, finishing 109th. Teams don't do that. I'd like to see how many teams have finished that low in the rankings and come out with that many wins. The personnel on the OL and at QB constitutes 7-8 wins, IMO.

The defense was tons better, but still room for improvement.
