Any ideas why Catholic High does not participate in 7 on 7?

Does Catholic High have a football team?
Just joking....

Because Dale Weiner is a offensive genius. Someone who has won so many state championships with so little talent knows better than to let his players compete in something that could make them better.

Even if they have a good QB they still run the Wing T. I know Wing T teams in Shreveport play eachother. It's more conducive then playing all these spread teams who are running their own offense.

Because it simulates unrealistic situations
Just sayin
And, if your team does really well in 7 on 7 and has struggles early in the season the kids might wonder why...
It really doesn't matter if you are the national 7 on 7 champions, you are judges and you'll still get fired if you go 0-10 during the REAL season.

Weiner doesn't do anything that could move his kids to the next level. He does, however, beat up on a weak district every year and go to state. Oh wait, the district just got better. Maybe he better change his strategy.

Just last year he beat the #2 4A team in Florida and Acadiana in the playoffs. He took a below average team to the semifinals again. Is he really that bad?

He can't seem to win the big ones. He should have beat Acadiana a few years ago (When they won state) but his play calling handicapped his team.

Because they would get exposed against superior athletes.

Not any more than they do while playing real football.
Every year Catholic has one of the smallest, least athletic teams in 5A, yet they regularly win 9 or 10 games and advance to the semifinals. They match up well with private schools and can take advantage of most undisciplined public schools. Catholic can't handle the few public school teams who are also well coached (WM, Central the last couple years, Acadiana/Sulphur every now and then).

So why do college teams and NFL teams do them in the offseason?

False False False

I disagree and I agree with that to an extent..
We always have guys that "test" well athletically..but not the most athletic/fluid guys out there. Its amazing what pads can do.
But some/alot of our teams werent the norm; none of the teams I played on were like that

Honestly, the only teams Catholic cant handle is West Monroe.
We have beaten just about everyone else.
The 1996, 2003, 2005 games against WM were all winnable. We just had to play A- games to win. The 2003 and 2005 defense keep us in those games, but it was just hard to physically move the ball against some of the best WM defenses of all times in those games.
We had absolutely no shot in 1998 and 2009 however.
