Saw a commercial yesterday about tickets being on sale now for the 1st Pinstripe Bowl 12/30 beteeen Big 12 rep (Kansas?) and Big East (4th?)

Who would buy tivkets now for 12/30 game when you have no clue who will be there or the weather? I admit that it had a SEC team I would buy them now
but

Kansas against South Florida? Boo
Nebraska Rutgers OK

New Era Pinstripe Bowl

I guess they're banking on the fact that it's in New York, and Yankee Stadium (more specifically). They're figuring that some people would want to go there no matter what the weather was like.

Weather should not be an issue. It is right before New Years eve in NYC. There will be tons to do and see. Great time and place for a Bowl Game. There is a good chance the weather in NYC won't be any worse than about 50% of all Cotton Bowls.

The NCAA should be cutting bowl games not adding them.

Is that actual attendance or paid tickets? If they get the right teams they will draw people. NYC at Chrsitmas etc.

Syracus and Rutgers will bring people as would UConn.

How many Big 12 people come depends on the team.

Iowa State 7 people

Rutgers/Syracuse/UConn/West Virginia playing a Big 12 team will absolutely draw over 30,000. I think people underestimate that people would much rather go to NYC for New Years than Shreveport or San Antonio. Nothing wrong with more Bowl games to reward these kids that bust their asses to play D1 football.

New York at Christmas is real expensive. I'll go depending on the teams
