Talking Sports out of you A$$

A conversation like this came up in the TV/MOVIE boards that turned into people talking about sports and not knowing anything. This was the example provided by srbtiger06
The same roommate used to do this whenever we would talk football ( he had ZERO clue about anything sports related) so before the LSU UK game in 2006 I told him they had a badass wide out named Marvin Harrison that we needed to watch out for. He looked like a fricking idiot at our tailgate.
Anyone got any good stories like this, they create awkward and embarrassing situations but are just to good to laugh at later.

Every sports related conversation my girlfriend tries to have with me.

My brother doesn't really fit into this, but I could probably convince him of something like that, but he wouldn't bring it up

+1. She watches and knows a bit, but whenever I want her to shut up I just start talking about dime packages or baseball theory.

I convinced Al Davis to draft a certain Maryland WR.

I remember watching a Packers Broncos game several years ago with my brother and a friend of mine who didn't really watch football to much but I didn't know that. Any who Favre slings a screen pass to Ahman Green who rips off a 65 some yard touchdown. about an hour later Favre hooks up with Donald driver for a 45-50 yard touchdown deep downfield and my friend high five ready yells "great screen pass!!!" Apparently he thought that every screen pass was any long passing play period after hearing the term several times earlier. He was embarrassed a little bit but we didn't rag him to much.

Don't you hate that shite? The Pats were doing one of their crazy quarter packages and my gf at the time was like wow, they must want to stop the run.

Just another typical Boston sports fan...

Blow me. Plus all the idiot Yankee fans that I know can't even tell me if Nick Swisher plays CF, LF, or RF. I apologize for the rest of the country for the damn pink hatters, but Pats fans are usually legit.

I love when the QB throws it away and they cheer when the backup QB catches it.

I guess I don't understand. I literally know no one outside of the New England area that even likes them, much less cheers for them. You know how much shite I got when the Saints peppered them earlier this year?

My wife and I were at an NBA game with my boss and his wife. A guy was fouled behind the arc and got 3 free throws. As he was shooting the third one, the boss' wife says "wow, he must have really whacked him to get three of 'em.

Ouch. I don't know if could have kept my a-hole comments to myself.

To be honest, it doesn't really bother me that much as some of you guys. Now, I have had a case where me and some buddies were watching the Saints Pats game this year and we had one dude who acted like a life long Saints fan but then he saw Drew Brees and wondered allowed "I thought Reggie Brees was black."
That was bad.
That was bad.

Those are the worst. The newbie long timers. At least they don't have pink Saints hatters out there.
