I read that article and I just dont believe that Houston Texans are worth more than the Boston Red Sox on the open market. I am assuming they are saying the Texans are worth so much because of how much they paid for the expansion franchise a few years ago.

Yeah I know that is the idea, but the thought that the Texans are worth more than the Red Sox makes me want to vomit

yeah, i dont know how they gauge value, but it is even harder to believe Houston is one o the top 4-5 most valuable franchises in the NFL, much less all of sports

unless they gauge owners assets or something and bob mcnair is filthy rich

Seriously the NFL is fricking retarded if the Texans are truly worth that much, we should start an investment group to get a team back in LA with a new stadium, that team would be worth billions

True, but a team like the Red Sox draw 2 million people a year, plus postseason generally. And has to be one of the top 2-3 teams in baseball as far as merchandise.

Texans prob draw, what, a half a million a year? maybe a little more?

i dont have the numbers in front of me, and I know NFL has a salary cap, but the Sox payroll is prob double what the Texans is.

Texans payroll is 121 mill, Red Sox is 160 mill

I guess I am just not seeing how they are worth more.

Baseball has 81 home games, plus whatever postseason and NFL has 8 home games.

I don't know how they came up with there number but there is no way in hell the Cowboys make as much $ as the Yankees in ticket sales, merchandise, or TV money.

not surprising, if you add that stadium to the Cowboys' list of assets they are bound to shoot up the list
