No link, did a search and didn't see anything. I know it's been publicly stated that we're looking for a high profile opponent for the 2011 open date. A Texas tech friend told me he heard about this. Anyone got anything?

Why you say that? We tried to schedule tech a couple years ago but it didn't work cause they wanted a home and home and we wanted neutral field. Would also make sense w tubbs at the helm.

A&M is the least likely. They hate us for ditching the last series and they are in the second year of a 10 year neutral field series with Arky.

A&M believes LSU owes them money, but LSU disagrees. Until A&M joins the SEC five years from now, we will never play them in football outside of a bowl game.

I live in Lubbock and haven't heard a thing about this.

This would be cool as hell for me living here.

But dont see it happening. Now that the Big XII is the Big X all they have to do is schedule every team in the conference and a couple of cupcakes for the out of conference games, I dont see them doing this anytime in the near future.

Correct. I don't know if anyone can argue the financial side of it unless they've actually seen the contract. But it is pretty obvious we are the ones that chose to pull the plug on the series.

The opponent hasn't been determined yet.

They said it could be Texas Tech, but it won't be Texas A&M. Neither UT or the Aggies will agree to play LSU.

Wasn't it we wanted a home and neutral field?

Texas (UT) will not allow a Big 12 team to schedule us anywhere in Texas. Even non-Big 12 Texas teams are reluctant because Texas might not schedule them in the future.

I thought A&M dropped us because they joined the Big 12 and they had to play one more conference game than they did in the SWC

TCU is home/home beginning in 2013 I believe. Game here will be in Amon Carter on TCU campus.

nope, I had a conversation with Joe Dean before we got out of the contract. He felt, under the hallman and dinardo era, we couldn't get back to winning unless we got out of that contract.

basically, he felt it was the schedule's fault for our losing ways in the late 80's early 90's vs the coaches he hired.

I bet money that that game will be moved to the Cowboys Stadium. That rinky dink stadium couldn't fit the entire LSU Alumni in Dallas much less TCU fans.

Was one of the worst things to happen to LSU athletics.

He was poison for our program.

agreed. He did one thing correct. He kept the program from being in debt. With that said, he invested absolutely nothing into the program. he would not pay coaches, he let the facilities go to pot, and he was more concerned about being a politician than an athletic director.
